Mitsubishi F-2A by Team FS KBT

Ah yes that big highly visible button that says "pilot visible" when you mouse over it...
You'd think I could figure that out.

What other wonderful bits are hidden all over this aircraft you have to wonder? the KBT team clearly had a ball making it.

Now for some Shockwave lights perhaps...

This will always be one of my favourite models. The F-2 is a beautiful fighter and they have done it a great justice. Still one of my daily flyers. With a relative lack of add-ons from Japan, it's a great feeling to see such a good quality Japanese plane from Japanese freeware designers. You can tell it's a labour of love.

Now that's an idea I hadn't thought of... Shockwave Lights. Compleately forgot that I had those on the back-up. They'll will look really sharp on the F-2. Not to worry, Wing_Z, I havent figured out the canopy ladder yet.:isadizzy:

Thank you so much for this sentiment, my friend. It means a lot to have the help and prayers of people worldwide in this difficult time. :salute:

Thankfully my prefecture (Saitama) was not affected outside of bad shaking, so things are now more-or-less normal here. The efforts of recovery in badly-affected areas are slowly beginning so we are all praying together for a quick rebuilding.

Actually while trawling through those links, found some excellent Coral F-15 paints too.
And the Cloud9 Phantom photoreal one that keeps popping up in the WOW thread!

Thanks Wing_Z for the tip about the ladder. That's kind of an odd place for the ladder but I'll go with that. May you and yours have a swift recovery as well.

Great addon the F-2 is ( though I wonder if a final version for FS9 will ever come ...maybe a FSX variant....)

Surprisingly, even though a repaint kit is available, there are not many repaints around. A lot of fictitious repaints will fit her well.

Thank you sir, but it's going to be a long haul - the morale built up after last year's quake took a bit of a knock in the second one this February.

But nothing compared to the scale of the Japanese disaster.
18 F-2A's of the 4th Air Wing at Matsushima Air Base were lost in the tsunami.
At $110 million a pop, make the sum.
And that is but a single element of a very widespread event.

Actually reading a bit more about this plane...it's a 4.5th-generation fighter, a development of the f-16 Agile Falcon proposal, and is quite formidable.
If the F-35 doesn't get it together, this could be competition for it!

Yep I'm aware of that, that's why I mentioned fictitious repaints would fit her well. Like you said, if the F-35 would not reach operational status,......Plenty of F-16 (or other) unit repaints are possible.

I too would like to see some more repaint schemes. While the R/L aircraft may all be painted alike that doesn't have to limit us FS types.

I seem to remember a well-known former member posted some screenies of it painted F-16 style but I don't know if it was ever released. It looked pretty nice.

That may have been a repaint by Yago9, I remember it well, but not really sure who did that. If it was Yago9, me thinks that will be a hard one, if not impossible to find as of now. He left SOH some time ago and I believe he took all of his work with him.

Well we've finished with the F-2A for now, so I thought I'd hang this here, at least being Japanese...some Shockwave lights would not hurt this one either...

One disappointment I have, even the Shockwave lights have too much of a halo at a distance, guess the 747-8 treatment has spoiled me

I have just finished a great flight in the F-2A, from Saga to Tokushima, as always a pleasure in this beautiful plane. :salute:

Wing_Z, I love those beautiful screenshots! Those paints of JASDF F-4's are great. I have a temptation to buy the Cloud9 F-4 only for the chance to use those paints! :icon_lol:
