As you've now seen, the gauges not only have backlighting, they are zoned (meaning the flying instruments and engine instruments) so they have individual, continuously variable backlighting. The default is 50% brightness, which may then be turned up or down as desired.

I just dropped a few bucks on Ant's Sierra, and I think I'll end up getting this one too... as long as my better half doesn't beat me up ROFL!
