MM's Cartwheel over the Pacific

Safely into Nadzab.

Flying over the Owen-Stanley Range, one can see both coasts of New Guinea. Rather impressive sight.

Nadzab was the site of a daring American and Australian parachute drop, in conjunction with a land offensive on Lae, that signaled the end of the Japanese center of power on New Guinea. Within hours, the landing field was prepared and over the next days the full infantry forces were transported and supplied by air. After taking Lae, the Allies build an important supply base at the Nadzab airfields.
