Model Issue with C-117D?

I'm not sure if this is a hard wired model issue or if there's a work-around. On MJ's C-117D v1.2 I'm trying to rework or eliminate the glare shield on the nose. As you can see in my repaint so far, the stripes need to go over that area, not under it. In that pic I erased it from the templates but it still shows. It can be black as in the pic of the real one, but still it has to have the stripes go over it. :(
Is there a fix for this or do I need to just give up on that repaint? Thanx.

Alky, the anti glare panel is the bit in the circle.
You can make it black, and paint the stripes on top of it, no problem.

After I posted I noticed that the stripes on the real one actually slope down to the center on the nose. So I quickly redid it to see what would happen. The shield still covers part of it. Painting a piece the stripes on a remote area like that would need an artistic magician I think :icon_lol:
I notice from your example that I didn't need to paint the nose on the bottom image of the fuselage.
I appreciate the input :salute:

As long as the glare shield isn't stretched for some reason, if it simply sets in place, then with a bit of figuring, you can copy a section of the striping and add it to a layer so you can move it slightly until you have it in the correct position. You can use ModelConverterX to display the livery in question and refresh after each adjustment (once you save the livery changes back to the texture file.) It might take a bit of toying with it, or you could hit it with just a few tweaks. Just a suggestion.

I'll look it up & try it out. Thanx.

I copied a section of stripe and applied it to the glare shield... what a mess, this may be too much of a challenge LOL
