Model Shining Question

Hi friends,

I have a couple of dedicated CFS2 Tempest aircraft by David Hanvey, but as they are older models (but get better framerates than his converted FS9 models) they need a little shine added. My question is what settings should I start with if I'm using Archisoft's MDLC with Morton's GUI?

Thanks in advance,

TW

Lack of Gloss

...My question is what settings should I start with if I'm using Archisoft's MDLC with Morton's GUI?...

It's going to come down to personal preferences, TW - but I use the following:

0.3 Specular RGB

300 Specular Power

I don't care for a huge amount of reflectivity on my planes - this works best on my monitor and with my present video board config

Start here and work up - it can get really creative !

Enjoy

Go Right To The Source.....

...Thanks for the info, but if I may ask, how do each of these two values affect how the model shines?...

...And Ask The programmer, TW - I just experimented until I found what looked good to me !

MDLC is a beta testing version program now, welcome to feedback for any problem.

from Morton's UI for MDLC...

specular power. Lowering this number gradually increases the part of the aircraft skin affected by the shine

specular RGB. Increasing the number makes the shine more intense
