Montoya happy at Ganassi

Hey All,

Direct copy from Jayski:
Montoya has no plans to leave NASCAR: After rising to prominence in CART and Indy cars and then Formula 1 prior to his switch to NASCAR, many have speculated that #42-Juan Pablo Montoya would return to open-wheel cars eventually. But the Colombian says that he has no plans to leave his current stock car gig with Chip Ganassi Racing in the Sprint Cup Series. "Some people tell me I should go back to F1, but I'm happy," the 35-year-old told the Spanish language website prensa.com. "I think it is clear that there is no chance of going the other way. At this moment I am happy, my sponsor is happy and Chip Ganassi is happy and that's all I care about." Montoya added that NASCAR is "more fun" than F1, due to the latter's ongoing problems with a lack of passing. I saw the (Abu Dhabi) finale this year and it's like it has been all the time one car is a second faster than another but he cannot pass," he noted. "They say the problem is the tracks but, honestly, F1 has always been the same."(Racer)(12-30-2010)

Actually he is wrong about passing in F1. All that needs to happen is to order the driver in the lead to pull over and park. Actually I think it is the tracks and the orders. Have the tracks grown with the cars? Do you have multiple racing grooves? Baffles me as why follow the leader is a big sport in a lot of the world.

I thought NASCAR was pretty popular down in old Mexico?

Juan Pablo Montoya has come a long way in stock car racing. His skills are not to be taken lightly and he now knows how to race and how to win in NASCAR.
