I have a need ... has anyone painted up a stock F4U1A as a late 42 version ... just the white star in a blue circle?

I tried to ... but got messed up with the stupid wing insignia (that m/s way of doing things). I don't need it to be fancy or "significant" ... just a proper early version ... not the late-war "44" version that we have now.

Just a thought.

Bill, can do, just not sure it's needed. The early USMC corsairs were all birdcage F4U1, & the AH Birdcage pack, together with Rob H's skinpack here at SOH is everything you need (I think).

Incidentally, you mention the wing insignia problem. This was eliminated with Dbolt's reworking of the stock Corsair. You can just paint the insignia on, & it's unmirrored, the same method as the B24 guy used on the other stock a/c. Just replace your stock corsair with Dbolts & you're good to go!

Booyaa!!!...now that's the stuff! You're fillin' a huge gap in my CFS2 world Unkie T. I've been wanting to expand my 1944-45 action to include some serious BPF ops. None of the few FAA Corsair skins i've found to date could be applied to what i wanted to do.
