• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

More of the Douglas XB-19

The XB-19 with it's 212 foot wingspan was the largest airplane ever built before the B-36. My family lived close to Wright field at the end of WW2 and I saw this monster in the air over Columbus Ohio a few times. It was the XB-19A by then and had the big Allison engines installed. I remember it flew very slow and took a lot of real estate to make a turn.
I settled on a reflective surface for this plane as I never got it to my satisfaction with a specular shine.
The XB-19 had a huge flight deck so I added a camera position there. I hope to release it in a few days when I get rid of a couple more "zits".

Paul, you and Piglet are my FSX heroes! Love that you choose to do such cool and relatively obscure planes. Can't wait to fly this big beast!
