SOH-CM-2025
Captain Kurt's reworked Pearl Harbour US missions, & the introduction of civilian aircraft into the mix coincided with me looking at some of those other Early Pacific raids.

On December 8th, some ki-27 Nates escorted ki-32 Marys to strike at Hong Kong. Meeting no air opposition, they caught a number of Eurasia Ju-52s, & CNAC Curtiss AT-32 Condor IIs on the deck, as well as shooting up a PanAm Sikorsky S-42B.

Over subsequent days the civilian aircraft that survived the initial strike made several evacuation runs to China.

One of the AT-32s was captured & put to use flying cargo runs by the IJAAF over China.

The same kind of thing happened across Papua New Guinea, with strange old machines taking to the air in desperate attempts to flee the advancing Japs...

Elsewhere, some other AT-32s & T-32s only just missed WW2.

International Air Freight at Croydon ran 4 old T-32 as cargo carriers. Although I could find no evidence of them being used, they were impressed by the RAF at the start of WW2, & were scrapped by 30 Maintenance Unit at RAF Sealand. So I wondered what they might have looked like...

The USMC was using AT-32s as VIP transports up until mid-1939...

Something different for the weekend there John....

A good selection of skins. And a genuine nice surprise, I've never seen or heard of the AT/T-32 series of ac?!

As they say, you learn something new every day...

Cheers

Shessi

Chinas wings..

... is a book you guys might like in regards to some of these planes. The book is about civilian air before, during and after the war in China. What is really interesting is that one of the pilots was a Chinese citizen who was taught to fly by some of the American pilots and later became one of the founders of Tiger Airlines. Part of TWA also developed out of this service.
I found the book pretty good.

Shessi - well you know how things are when there's "nothing on the Telly" over the Holiday period ... :devilish:

With the Curtiss Condor it was a good exercise in converting FS9 airfile data into something that would fly in CFS 2, & doing a similar thing for the 2D & VC panels.

The Ju-52 is a do-over for the latest CFS 2 Tante Ju. I never could find a copy of the Eurasia paint for Primavesi's FS2004 Ju52v60, so I did my own...

MVG - I'm just waiting on JBK permission to upload the complete conversion of the T-32 & AT-32, everything is ready to go ...:onthego:.

btw these paints should work in FS2004 too...

the Eurasia Ju52 repaint is in the upload queue

Couple more screengrabs... I don't know if the "EURASIA" is correct for both cabin roof and floor, but it seemed logical to me, seeing it was definitely painted on the roof (just like Imperial Airways did).

Description: Eurasia Corporation JU52/3m repaint by UncleTgt

This is a simple repaint for the Junkers Ju52 project for CFS2 (derived from Pierino Primavesis Ju52v60).

The texture represents an aircraft of Eurasia Corporation. Several of these aircraft, impounded at Kai Tak airport, Hong Kong, were caught on the ground by the Japanese air attacks of 8th December 1941. I couldn't find a version of Primavesi's original Eurasia skin anywhere on the web, so I made my own.

A simplified dp file & WIN 7 safe panel bitmap are included.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

Thanks to: Pierino Primavesi for the original FS2004 Ju52.

The Project Team (you know who you are) for the conversion to make it available in CFS2.

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.
