Nice screenshots Chipshop! Its always nice to see that people actually use my repaints.

The next one is already in the paintshop. Still a long way to go, so its not more than an early pre-view.

Cheers,
Huub

Repaint Mosquito AZ-F DZ518, 627 squadron has been uploaded.

For those who want it: the repaint below has been uploaded to the library.

It depicts the DZ518 as it looked in January 1944, when it flew with 627 sqn.

Cheers,
Huub

Nice screenshots guys!

Hey RobH, you are obviously painting Typhoons. Is it the old Alphasim Typhoon? Definitely nice paintwork!

Cheers,
Huub

Thanks Huub! Yes, it is the old Alphasim Typhoon. Someone (updated) it to work in FSX, I found it on flightsim.com. I've just been playing around with it.

The model must be ancient, but funny enough it still looks quite nice. Especially with you new skins.

I always loved the car door version from the Typhoon.

Cheers,
Huub

Mosquito DZ353

The Mosquito B Mk IV DZ535 was delivered to 105 squadron in 1942 and can be seen on the pictures, taken in December 1942 from the presentation of the Mosquito, to the press. This aircraft was wearing the registration GB-E. After also being in use by 139 squadron it was handed over to 627 squadron, which flew from Woodhall Spa.

On the 8th of June 1944 at 23:47 the DZ353 with registration AZ-B took off from Woodhall Spa on a pathfinder mission. To prevent German reinforcements to reach Normandy the target was the rail yard of Rennes (Brittany/Bretagne). On board were the pilot, Battle of Britain veteran F/Lt Harry Steere DFC DFM from the RAF and the Australian navigator F/O Kenneth William Gale DFC.
The aircraft crashed during the early night of 9 June 1944, just South of Rennes, between the villages Orgeres and St. Erblon. The reason has never been established. Both crew members were killed in the crash.

On the wall in front of the town hall of St. Erblon there is a small plate to remember the crew members.

The repaint is not complete finished and based on a picture of the real aircraft and a profile by Gaetan Marie. The D-day markings did not continue over the Flaps and ailerons.

Cheers,
Huub

I have been quite busy with other things, but took up this repaint again
