There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Looks great Tim!
Even though this aircraft and the Fouga Magister are powered by a tiny Marboré engine, which really are the size of a large vacuum cleaner, they are incredibly noisy. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to witness a Fouga start up only about 50 meters from me, and it produces a very high pitched whistle that really hurts your ears.
The Americans may know the engine as the Teledyne CAE J69 which was a licence-built Marboré and was used in the T-37 Tweet.

Yep, I worked T-37's at Perrin AFB here in Texas in the late 60's and A-37's in Vietnam, definitely different engines. We were required to use double hearing protection for the T-37's if we were anywhere near them during operations (ear plugs and headsets). I was too close to one when it started up on one occasion and the effect it had on me before I was able to get a headset was quite disconcerting. It made me feel very irritable, which I understand is a symptom of it's effects on an individual along with other long term effects if it goes unchecked. Not something to take lightly.Ahh you learn something new everyday ..didnt know they were similar engines...they do sound similar and yes I can also vouch that Fouga Magistars are very noisy after one taxied past me just a few feet away.
Edit: actually I havent heard a T-37 ...it was an A-37 which has different engines
