MS Siderwinder glitching

Roger, I'm no electronics tech either, but I can do mechanical. When I'm messing with something like a joystick, if it's working like it should mechanically, I figure it must the electronics which I usually can't do much about.

Thanks

The Logitech works perfectly in XP - it's been around since XP was the "latest and greatest from MS. I wore out two of them with my old XP flight rig. If you don't want to program anything, you don't have to - that's just something that L'tech offers to help customize things. I just reassign the buttons the way I want in the Sim's control panel.

That sounds like the ticket. Never Programed the sidewinder using the MS included disk, since XP recognized it. CH, who make good stuff that XP instantly recognizes, doesn't have a rudder on it's stick. Their peddals, which I used for a while, don't fit under the new desk..

Need to find a coffee can

This morning was the food run for this week. So I was unable to search the storage room for a coffee can (circa 1960+) in the storage room. I need it to support the thing while I play "operation." I know there is one out there full of AC/DC transformers. And I remember one full of straightened construction nails. "Never throw anything out;you may need it." It's there somewhere in the ten comandments.

Electronics always had a first step: "clean all visible contacts." 92% Isopropal and q-tips wound tight.
