• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

*MSFS 2020 Tools

If you're logged into Windows with an admin account, you should have full control over the files. I've never had any issue.
No, I am ,and I do, but I don't, and never had control over MS assumed files, that's why everything sim related stays very clear of designated/default locations. Then I never have problems. What happened here is that, fs2024 placed my Addon Linker shortcuts outside of my Community folder, which is why nothing was showing up in the sim. Once I realized that, when I cut and pasted the shortcuts into the community folder, the whole install of the addon transferred into the Community folder where it became locked up and MS property, I was not able to move it, or copy it, only delete it. This is a common thing with the store bought version. This file zipping from the Community folder saved my work, which is mine, created by me, and I do have full permissions on my system. As soon as they went into the MS folder, I lost all rights to my own files. I'm glad you never had a problem Tom, hopefully this helps someone else who does.

MS does some nasty permission stuff with their games. Even if you're an admin, it can take some real permissions wizardry to get control of files in the \xboxgames folder and elsewhere when the MS Store is involved. Discovered this when trying to install some Starfield mods.

One of many reasons I suggest installing the FS2020 files in a custom folder rather than the default.
