MSFS 2024 to be on a PC, but order via Xbox?

Twice43

SOH-CM-2025
Before I send my pre-order into the ether I thought I should check I am in the right place.
I want to run 2024 on a PC, & not order it via Steam.
When I search, what I am coming up with is ordering via Xbox, which I don't run 2020 on.
So, is Xbox the channel to to use to get a pre-order in for download to a PC?
Thanks
T43

A little background info first: MSFS2020 is an Xbox Game Studios title, and it will only run on a PC which has the Xbox App installed. The Xbox App for PC is included by default on Windows 10 and 11.

Therefore, you can launch the Xbox App on your PC and click on Store in the menu on the top left, then you can click on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and place your order.

Also of note. If you buy it through Microsoft/Xbox and not on Steam you can use it on both PC and Xbox if you wish.
If you buy it on Steam you can only use it on PC.

And, you can buy it on the web! This version gets you a license for both the PC and Xbox versions, just like buying it on the Xbox app or from the MS Store app.

Fun fact: If you buy it on an actual Xbox, you also get the rights to the PC version too.

The only place where you don't get full rights on all platforms is Steam.
