I guess I am going to have to wait until someone with more skill than me can set up a scenery library thread, etc for the Mediterranean theatre. Can't seem to get coastlines right. This is Tobruk. Rami fixed my library once, but the coastlines never have looked right. All square or angular.
 
Here's my scenery.cfg file for the MTO. Everything works beautifully. Let me know if you need any further explanation.

Thanks for the "lineup". However, what should I have in my scenerydb/world/scenery & texture? I think part of my problem may be in there.
My MTO currently has no Europe terrain or scenery. I have a separate ETO install so far that looks very good. I still have some additional layer to install, but would like to get MTO at least where the shorelines look somewhat normal.

Let's keep your scenedb/world/scenery & texture folders as normal ,you don't need to tweak it ,the scenery works by itself with any stock or not scenedb/world/texture .
Your issue is surely about with the install and the set up, the original name of the scenery folder is Desert_scen with its scenery and texture folders.
from the Egypt Coastlines thread, Japlance link,
in first forget EGYPTcoastbeta.zip it's outdated.
unzip Desrtbeta1,Desrtbeta2,Desrtbeta3,Lybie_Update and Egypt_Update in a tempory folder you will have the entire Desert_scen scenery .check at the end if all is in the right place ,the bgls in Desert_scen/scenery folder and the bmps in Desert_scen/texture folder .
Let's stay classical :
place your Desert_scen folder in your .../cfs2/scenedb
set up the Desert_scen area as usual in the cfs2 library (add area, browse it .../cfs2/scenedb/Desert_scen ,ok,etc...restart cfs2 ) and that should normally works......

Hi Highpockets,

My scenerydb/world/scenery folder has the original files plus the Rhumbaflappy LOD 7 files which replace some of the originals.

My scenerydb/world/texture folder has no textures. The textures are in the Sander de Cocq \EurW_LC\texture folder and a duplicate in the main TEXTURES folder.

I also have Rhumbaflappy's replacement dem4km file in the main SCENERY folder.

Perhaps if you post a copy of the contents of your scenery.cfg file, we might find the problem.

Something strange is going on! Neither my scenery.cfg notepad or scenery.org notepad sequence matches the list in my scenery library! I am going to have to think about this.
Any ideas?
I need to find the problem before I start to follow Jean Bomber or Kdriver's suggestions.
Heaven forbid, I may have to do a complete new install of my MTO with Rami's missions and all the A/C, scenery, etc. :kilroy:
 
The list in the scenery library within the game reads from top to bottom while the scenery.cfg file reads from bottom to top. In other words, your scenery.cfg file should look like the scenery library in reverse.
 
I understand how they mirror in reverse. Should I PM my scenery.cfg and library screen? They do not come close to mirroring except in the stock areas. My problem may be in how I have my hard drive partitoned and my files set up. I discovered this morning that my other CFS2 installs do not exactly mirror even though their scenery looks much better than MTO. I think when I delete or move the files in the library they may go to another scenerydb file location (backup)rather than back to the original location. I am going to have to take some time to look into this phenomenon.

Here is a screen shot out of Bengazi from one of Rami's Italian missions. Note the angular shore, no beach and the black square on the left. Those come into view on land as I fly the route to the next waypoint.

Bengazi in your cfs2 is like it is in the default ,the scenery is inactive ,nothing happens or show up ,even no bug....except the color of the inland squares....,one step in the install and set up seem missed .I don't understand :isadizzy:

How to install a scenery in cfs2 (classical maneer):

place the "Desert_scen" folder in ......./Combat Flight Simulator 2/scenedb
in cfs2
go to the parameter (pict 1)
tick scenery library (pict 2) add area a dialog will open
,browse to the "Desert_scen"(......./Combat Flight Simulator 2/scenedb )and set up the scenery(pict 3)... ok
,In the scenery list move the folder scenery to the bottom(pict4)
and place it upper the terrain, fs2000,mesh, masks, etc.....(pict5)

and from my scenery cfg :

Quit and restart cfs2

Kdriver pointed out that the file Eurw was missing. That seemed fix the blank squares on land. However, I discovered the real problem!
My desktop exe icon for MTO was taking me to my backup copy. I was loading all the scenery into the scenerydb file that I thought I was going to be operating out of!! I have fixed the icon issue and now am in the process of checking all the scenery installs and making sure they are in the proper sequence. I will keep you informed of my progress. I probably will need some more help.
I do have an issue with my QC and Free Flight that I will bring up in another thread.
It soon will be time for Christmas presents and lunch with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. :applause:

where can I get the Desert_scen files. Rami has asked me to move some of my airfields in Northern Africa due to the new and somewhat moved coastlines. That triggered the idea to make the entire set of airfields.
But that I am not going to do before your works in that area are finished.
My "Africans" were my early ones anyway and not that fantastic so and upgrade in the near future has to be done anyway.

If I can give you a hand in your undertaking, please say so.
