• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

HOWDY YA'LL!!!

spitguy22 here, the Supermarine Spitfire's biggest fan, from its racing origins to the Mk22 (but the P-38's not bad either:d ). I come to you, the people of SOH with a burning question. Where can one play CFS3 online safely and for free? I've tried gameranger but frankly I don't trust it. So I'd really like to get a response on this, and maybe once you tell me of a good site we can have a friendly scrape over the channel...but only if I can fly a spit ;).

:kilroy:Spitguy22, GameRanger is safe, although some do not trust it. I have used it for quite a while now with no problems. However, Vista- and Windows 7-based CFS3 may not work through GR.

Vista- and Windows 7-based CFS3 work fine in IP-to-IP play, if you follow the instructions found here:

Muchas gracias, señor grizzly50. but as the title suggests, i have more stupid questions. How does one join an online dogfight? when i try to make an account on the cfs3 main multiplayer screen it says i can't. also i have installed gm but i have no idea how to use it. the help menu is so unclear. HELP! i really want to fly online, but this is the first time i've ever tried. im a teenager, im not sure how many kids my age put up with realistic simulators (haha) and i wasnt flying when gamespy supported the game (gamespy was the main site of multiplayer on cfs, right? very naive here). but i imagine most people here, esp. those who make the excellent freeware are adults. so if you could direct me to a strait-forward site that explains any way to do this I would be ever so greatful

As the Grizzly said, you can join IP to Ip: click on 'Join Private Game'
and enter an I.P. that you get from the link that Grizzly posted.

Your game has to be patched to ver. 3.1 and THEN ver. 3.1a
(Download the Mission Builder, too)

There's a few teenagers flying MP, but watch out! They're real good!

Hello all. I also am new to this game but flying if my forte'. I would like to get CFS3 all up to date and start flying online ASAP. If someone can please help that would be really awsome. I aslo need crash fix tips for Windows XP.

I have played or owned many a flight sim. Fighter Ace im sure MANY of you have heard of. Falcon 4.0, Janes F/A-18, Janes WWII Fighters, EAW, IL-2, LOMAC, and WWIIOnline. So i ve got my experience, im just trying to put it ot better use. >>S<<
