heres a bit of dum question for ya,how do i do multiple installs?

MULTIPLE INSTALLS

Scruff;
There are some tutorials out there on different versions of doing this. I found that you;
-Make a new theater folder within the MS Combat Flight Sim 2 main folder. This will give you CFS2 (main) ,PTO (theater), Korea(theater) etc. Game folder when opened will look like this for example; CFS2/ETO/MTO/PTO
-install (copy) the game to the new directory, ie; ETO, Korea, MTO, PTO, etc
-then COPY (DON'T CUT AND PASTE THIS!!!) the MS Combat Flight Simulator Module (the pilot guy in the main folder looking over his shoulder) to your main screen.
You then rename this pasted icon your new theater name that you copied it from and named before. This will give you the shortcut to there.
There will be other posts about shared folders (engine sounds, panels) but this will give you the main game theaters.

Multi Install

for the path 10 years I have ran CFS2 as a single install. But I'm getting a little tired of the quirks that CFS2 is throwing at me by having one huge mega install.

Now do I set up multi-installs?

there is a post on the main page,scroll down.you will find youre answer there.

Wulf,

Here is a link to the thread that Scuff mentioned.

Here's how I do it:

1. Go to Local Disk (C://) Program files/Microsoft Games/Combat Flight Simulator 2

2. Right click next to CFS 2 and select "New Folder"

3. Name it CFS 2 PTO or CFS 2 MTO, etc.

4. Open up your stock CFS 2 folder and copy all of your folders and files. It's best to do this with a virgin CFS 2 installation. That way you won't be bringing over all of your old mistakes, planes and ships that you don't want in your new installation

5. Paste the folders and files into your new CFS 2 PTO (MTO, ETO, CBI, etc.) folder

6. Open up the new folder and find your "cfs2 application" icon. Right click on it and "Save As" with your new folder's name into your new folder

7. Find your CFS2.cfg file and rename it to your new folder's name. This is optional, but if you are saving a previous CFS 2 with all of your various display and control selection settings, this will save those settings into your new installation

8. Highlight your new CFS 2 XX application icon, right click on it and select "Create Shortcut"

9. Highlight your new shortcut, cut and then paste it to your desktop if you like

10. Leave your original cfs2.application icon in you new installation. Many self-installers for planes and scenery look for this when installing their product

11. Click on your new CFS 2 icon or icon shortcut and see how it works

Here is a screen shot of what your new installation folder's cfg and application files should look like when your done

We can address the mission builder set up after your get your new installation up and running
