Mustang!!!!

I've retired myself from flight sim developing, but I'd gladly assist wherever possible in any P-51 development for MSFS.

Another detail I thought I would mention too is the paint on the landing gear handle. From the factory, it was never painted overall red - that was something that only first took after WWII, in the 1950s when the cockpits of some in the USAF were painted black. Originally, from North American Aviation, the gear handles were always either painted entirely flat black (with white lettering), or interior green with only the rounded end painted red (with black lettering).

Hi John,

For what it's worth, your Mustangs were the best ever and I've enjoyed them in FSX and several iterations of P3D. I've spent many an hour in them!

Enjoy your retirement at such a young age! ;)

The only way I'd be able to get back into FS development work is if I were to win the lottery. At this time, working two jobs, I just don't have the time for it while still having time for other things that I wish to do/enjoy more. As I mentioned here some months ago, I'm just a casual flight simmer now, eager to support anyone else developing warbirds for MSFS (and DCS).

Thank you Prlller, it means a lot to me year to read that!

Well John, win the lottery. Please.

How about I buy you some tickets?
I agree with Jan, I've flown your Mustangs from day one and still happily do so in P3Dv5.
They've NEVER come close to disappointing me.
I can relate to the RL situation you find yourself in, after more than a year we Aussies are almost back to 75% of our workforce getting back to a variety of jobs, but any who are involved in international tourism are still beached.
Stay well and stay strong.
:encouragement:

I wonder if it'd be possible to cobble together converted model files from Bomber_12's awesome P-51B/C pack with the flight model and audio from the AH P-51D? I haven't really poked around the airplane files enough to know if this is doable.

(For personal use only, having purchased the P-51B/C pack and I will be first in line for AH's P-51D.) (And their DC-3... And the Pucara... And the Hurricane... I'll be feeding Bazzar and Pilto for a month, is what I'm saying here.)

It's the age-old argument with this one. I think it is fair to say that from a commercial perspective, the larger amount of potential market, especially MSFS, when thinking of a P51 Mustang, will think P51D. If we were to develop a P51 for P3DV5 say,we might look at the B or C models but here, we aim straight down the middle of the runway.:engel016:

100% agree with that! It's just us aviation history nuts who want things like P-51Bs, P-51Hs, and P-82s. :)

Maybe someday *I* will hit the lottery and (1) hire Bomber_12th to build every Mustang from XP-51 through Cavalier, and (2) make a modern sequel to Rowan's MiG Alley. (So it's in your best interest to buy me tickets too, folks, when you're at store buying tickets for John.)
