My favorite car

Hi All,
Here's a link to Jay Leno's Garage. It's pretty neat. Jay gives mini reviews/observations and takes these autos out on the road for the viewer's sake. He also covers motorcycles, stationary engines,....and various WWII aircraft. He as a passenger only.

.....If I decided to put on the dog for awhile,....it would be with this baby....a 1929 Auburn Boat Tail. (I'm afraid my Subaru would get a bit jealous though...)

Hello everyone,

Cool thread. I came of age in what I believe to be the peak of the US muscle car era...mid to late 60's.
The below are all photos from the internet but represent the cars I had and have, including make,
model and color. The '55 and '70 'Vette were the only 2 I purchased used, well, actually my
dad purchased the '55 for my 16th BD in 1964.

My first ride (high school junior) was a '55 Chevy Bel-Air 2-door sedan.

1st job after HS I bought a "66 SS 396 - out of all the ones I've owned,
this is the one I wish I still had!

Paid off the Chevelle and got a '69 Z-28

Next I satisfied my Corvette craving with a 70 LT-1

Next came the kids and car with a back seat.

Then Hunting and fishing with a back seat and storage!

Then just hunting and fishing!

My middle age crazy ride was a '90 GT Rag Top, which I still have in original condition,
Tripple White, kept garaged and hasn't seen a drop of rain in over 4 years now.
Only take it out on sunny, top down kinda days.

My mature and practical current everyday ride! 99 Silverado Z-71 King Cab
Sportside. Wouldn't take nothin' for my pick-up!

I've owned plenty of V-8 powered American cars. My current daily driver is a 1992, 4.6L V-8 powered Mercury Grand Marquis. I have also owned a 71 Ford LTD, 77 Ford Ranchero, 95 Ford Crown Victoria and plenty of midsized cars with V-6 engines (Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable, Chevy Celebrity, Olds Cutlass)

I've also had many Ford Rangers, a (piece of excrement) Dodge Dakota, a 77 Plymouth Volare and my only foreign car... an 84 Volvo 240 Wagon.

I'd buy another Volvo in a heartbeat but I do love my full size "Panthers" (A panther is the chassis name for the Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis/Lincoln Town Car)

I wish that Ford could figure out a way to import the Aussie Falcons to the US. I'd almost kill to have a Falcon Ute as the new Ranchero...

Leather Dress...the Myth

I was going to post this in Canelo's but then I remembered this thread...and saw Brian's post above (Sorry!)

Did You Know This About Leather Dresses?
When a woman wears a leather dress, a man's heart beats quicker, his throat gets dry, he gets weak in the knees, and he begins to think irrationally ???

Have you ever wondered why?

It's because she smells like a beaut new 4-wheel drive UTE !

...How about a Range Rover!!
HAH! Wussied yuppified Land Rover. Can't hose the blood out of one of those! Might get the leather and mink all dirty, or nick the walnut dash...
My present ride is a Volvo 760 Turbo Wagon. Call it my "Tunnan"
Jay Leno's Garage
My friend's got a studio right around the corner from Leno's car hangar. I often see Leno driving around town in one of his antique cars. Look in the rear view mirror, and see the Leno hair and chin!

Range Rover was actually the first SUV. It was unheard of to have a 4X4 with AC and carpet and all the other luxuries, back then in 1972 (I think) when they launched the Countach and a couple of other famous Italian rigs.

Here in the states, a car was a car and a truck was a truck, and a jeep was a jeep.

But in England, a very rare bird was born... A mix between a Land Rover and a Rolls... A mix between a Jeep and a Mercedes. It was a rare vehicle and a difficult one for the price. The main thing they needed was for it to A. Never break down, and B. Run perfect all the time, even when up to the windows in mud!!!!

Thus was born the Range Rover.

[Nitpick]That's not leather, that's CGI'd PVC, but just as kinky as real leather.[/nitpick]

my first and only car, which I've luckily sold already, was unfortunately a Fix Or Repair Daily from 1982. it had engine in the front and driving wheels in the back, and that was about the only good side of it.

My next car? well, E30 or E36 BMW, most likely. or perhaps some other European or Japanese RWD oddity.

my Favourite car, well landy, is a true workhorse!
