My first attempt at making an FSX video

Dangerous Beans

SOH-CM-2022
The Worlds shortest commercial flight from (EGEW) Westray to (EGEP) Papa Westray featuring the Flight 1 BN-2 Islander and ORBX FTX Scotland.
I know the landing could have been better, well off the centre line but it could have been a lot worse :)

Nothing to be ashamed of there for a first effort. :applause: I'm thinking of making some myself having finally got to grips with EZDok after 1 year of it languishing unused on my HD. So thanks to Froogle and some other YT instructors got me making use of it. ALso I'm considering getting an Nvidea card now that they have this video option running in the background. I'd like to see some pro's using that facility over Fraps to compare.

I'm using DXTory as it doesn't slaughter you FPS like Fraps does. Heres a good video I found on setting it up for best results.

I want to do more videos but I think I need to get a bit more creative with the editing. This one was just recorded on the fly :) and a basic fade in fade out added and that was it.
I'm going to play about with FSRecorder and Sony Vegas more and see how I get on, not sure about adding commentary though as I'm not much of a talker IRL.

Interesting I had never heard of DXTory before, I wonder DDave. I see you have NV card are you going to try their new (forgot the name) on the fly background record feature?

That would be ShadowPlay, but requires GTX 600 and 700 series GPUs because of the built in H.265 encoder...

"GeForce ShadowPlay is a high-performance, fast and free gameplay-capturing tool that’s available exclusively to GeForce customers. It’s also super easy to use, having the H.264 encoder built directly into GeForce GTX 600 and 700 series GPUs."

Thanks for the HU, I installed shadow play only to find out that it does not support Flight Simulator X. It scanned for supported games and FSX didn't make the list.
So, so I delete it or tinker with it to see if it will work with fsx? I have a GTX 660.

Edit: FSX is not recognized as a game that shadow play will work with yet I see youtube videos where people posted flights in FSX using Shadowplay: :isadizzy:

Thanks DB! Installed DXtory and followed the recommendations from the Utube video. My requirements are below the recommended ones in the video, but much better than Fraps.

The props look normal now instead of fluctuating using Fraps. Keep on posting videos DB! :salute:
