My first hops in New Zealand...

Impressive shots Markus! Your FS9 looks impressive too, I was wondering if you had put in a "bloom" effect that was made by somebody for FS9?
And all these clouds and the weather, looks very real, are they hi-def cloud textures?

Oh and Wing_Z, the Mustang looks shiny in your NZPP shots, (nice shots), have you got some kind of edited env. map in your FS9 setup for more aluminum shine or is it just the textures on the Mustang?

Yup I think I have BananaBob's envmap which gave all my old planes a brand new look! ;)
Just change zip to bmp

Wild Bill

Those shots look great....sure wish my FS9 looked that good.

The Dove....very beautiful plane...just wish it had a VC. I like the shape of it, that cool Frisch's Big Boy looking thing on to of the cockpit area. But no VC means it got deleted from my install.

Glad you're still enjoying the show!

To be honest, I can't tell down to the last texture file what's tweaked in my FS world.

Let me try:

- Flight1's "Flight Environment" replacement textures (payware),
- Pablo Diaz's freeware High-Def clouds (cumulus 1024px, DXT3 in this case),
- Silver Wings ground replacement textures (freeware),
- sun bloom freeware from I-don't-know-where,

And of course the RealNZ payware set, adding a lot of high-detailed ground textures too!

Thanks Markus,

Gosh, I have to get hold of a lot of the NZ stuff. Just been there for three weeks in January and I fell in love with the country. (mind you, I only have been in Auckland, Waiheke and the parts north of Auckland plus Rotorua; have yet to see the rest of the North island and the whole South island) :jump:

Cheers,
Maarten

This time it's Heavy Metal!

No. 40 Sq has scheduled a training mission:
The task is to get some equipment into Tekapo's airstrip.

Hauling tons of stuff to a remote location?
Sounds like a job for this one:

Heading Westport, we reach South Islands western coast:

Above Hokitika:

Mount Cook area:

Lake Tekapo comes into sight, the airstrip must be at the southern tip of the lake:

This shoreline might be a mesh error, but since I don't know how it should look like, I just take it as a "typical geological formation" in this area:

Tekapo airstrip has an elevation of 2496 ft. Not quite an 'altiport', but the air is already some thin there - have to take this into account when turning in...

10tekapo.jpg

The runway looks quite narrow - and sure it is: just 11 meters!

11tekapo.jpg

Not too much space left on both sides:

12tekapo.jpg

There must be some massive magnetic deviations in this area: The rwy is called "29", the visual designation of "18" is quite a joke...

With full reversers, the runway's length of 950 m will be sufficient to get this fat lady to stop:

13tekapo.jpg

Tekapo's aerodrome chart tells that "movements are restricted to paved areas". Let's see if we can obey this when taxiing in:

Here we are - mission accomplished!

Quite a mission...
That strange-looking water is authentic btw - glacial meltwater is that turquoise shade!
I came across a great Real vs Sim pair the other day, hope you don't mind me dropping it in here

Kia Ora Charl & Markus!

Charl, thanks for posting the Real vs Sim picture. I just ordered the CD with the Real NZ scenery and I really know what to expect now. Looks very good.
Thanks for you scenery list, Markus. Brilliant.

Cheers,
