Hard to say...

AMD's CPUs are a good price for what you get, but they have a hard time matching Intel's offerings at the moment for raw power. It's not a bad CPU, but don't expect to run FSX with full eye candy and with acceptable perfromance.

I hope you mean 3GB of ram, and that should serve you well, but what combo do you have that gets you to 3GB of ram?

Videocard, yeah you need something better. The GTS 250 512MB (AKA 8800GTS 512, AKA 9800GTX+) is an awesome card for the price.

your hard disk size is good. I think 500-750GB is a good size, even today whne 1TB and now 2TB hard drives are coming out en-mass.
 
I'm glad someone brought this up about FSX.If I buy another laptop,what specs do I need to run FSX? I travel all the time so it has to be a laptop,I have a Toshiba Satellite A305 now and was told it won't do the job.After some more research I see that my graphics chipset is a real problem.

For FSX, I'd say an Intel C2D+ 2.8-3.0 GHZ CPU, AMD Phenom II tricore or quad core (both compare favorable with the E8400 3.9GHZ CPU of Intel, especially the Phenom II X4 Deneb) 2+GB of RAM (4+GB if your running Vista). Video card I'd say an ATI 4580 or greater / GTS 250 or greater.

Running FSX on a Laptop can be done, but don't expect eye candy, and don't expect 'high' frame rates.
 
i got a little bit more horse power than you but it runs FSX maxed out without much trouble..

I think it can get pretty close. My old ASUS C90S with an E6700, 3 GB ram, and a 8600m GT 512mb did a good job. I had the limiter set at 36 and that is what I got most of the time. Some major cities impacted it a bit.

All settings were high or higher minus clouds and traffic. The 8600m GT just couldn't muster the detailed clouds. I fly multiplayer all the time so the lack of traffic was never an issue.

With UTX and GEX, it actually looked pretty good while still holding at a more than acceptable frame rate. :engel016:

A newer laptop with a faster dual core, 4 GB ram, and a decent video card would run it quite well imho.
