Here are some pictures I took yesterday (8 June 12) at the Huntsville Nasa Space and Rocket Center. I was returning from my Florida Vacation
and on my way back home, stopped here for a visit. The kiddies there were just finishing there space camp. Interesting nugget, the shuttle you see here was a mock up and
never flew a mission however, it was the 1st one built as a mock up whereby the measurements were relayed to NASA at Cape Kennedy were the real ones were assembled.

Thanks for posting these pics.
Huntsville is a great place for for the kiddies... of which I'm one, a big one!
I dragged my wife up there one time to check it out and we took the little tour where they take you by bus through the testing and development areas.
They included the Saturn V engine test firing stands, a mock up of the [ future ] individual ISS modules, a buoyancy tank that they used before the large one out in Texas was built.
Let's see that had to been 22-23 years ago ! :applause: :USA-flag:

... and here we are now, one of the greatest space fairing nations on the Earth... and we are standing on the side of the road with our thumb out ... hitching for a ride with the Rooskies ! :angryfir: :banghead:

I visited the Huntsville Space Center a year or so after Katrina. I was a little dismayed at the overall condition of the center. From what I understand, it is subsidized by the state? The museum seemed somewhat rundown?
