NAS Lemoore scenery!

Henry, My Man! Super job. :applause:

I've imported all of the included Object Libraries into ADE. Almost all objects show, except what I think should be the FLOLS trailers.
All 3 have the same ID, so, I probably missed a library.bgl somewhere. GUID: 2b274da3-41dc-4126-8531-63bef894f948
FLOLS Trailer Grey(GUID: 2b26be2d-a486-49d8-95dd-ab8c726a4886) is there, but, by the dimensions, I believe it's the carrier deck pattern(runway overlay).
Any help will be appreciated.

I love traffic...LOTS of it. lol I'm planning on connecting most of the parking spaces, so, I can use my converted MAIW Lemoore traffic.
I may also create some custom AI traffic using a few of my other military AI planes. "60s A-4s and '70s A-7s(if I can find an A-7 AI plane) are a possibility.

Thanks so much for this great addition to my Naval Aviation library...Don

Don, the trailers included with the scenery are by gracious permission of Sylvain P. and are in the file "SP_FLOLS_Trailer_Grey.BGL". The carrier deck pattern is part of the striping that I created and is not a scenery object as such.

Please keep us posted about the results of connecting the parking spaces. If this works, it would be relatively easy for me to do in the update. My concern, just so you will know, is that you will still have some odd AI taxi. Don Grovestine describes this problem in a white paper he wrote on his website. If just connecting the parking spaces is satisfactory for the community then no big deal for me to connect up for the update.

henrystreet, they do need the links connected. The AI will currently spawn at the parking spots, but will not taxi without connected links. One of the ways to tell, well in the AI world, if you have a parking issue or taxi link issue when adding new airports. The other way is the disappear after landing, it's either no links or properly sized parking node for that model. The MAIW jets are also using a standard parking code in addition to the MIL_COMBAT spot, ie VFA-122 will be coded V122.

Victory103, the parking spots are appropriately and semantically labeled. But not with all the active squadrons. Just yesterday I got info from a contributor/user who works on the base with a complete description of which squadrons use which parking rows. I will be updating the designators!

Obviously the AI is an important feature add for the community and I am trying to make sure that if it is done in the scenery, that it is done "right". Please keep eroding away my ignorance and I will continue trying to make sure it will eventually work.

Don,

I think I found out what the object might be....do you have the tire skid marks shown in this screencap? If not, that is likely what they are. They are in an RFN library by Sylvain P. and might need to be added to the distro.

Let me know what you find and thanks in advance for the catch.

KNLC V1.02 available

KNLC v1.02 available

Changelog
- Updated squadron parking designators to current assignments. Left a couple of rows as VA-195 for old times sake.
- Connected squadron parking spaces to taxiways.
- Disabled a couple of Bravo taxi segments that went thru the line shack area

Here is the link: http://1drv.ms/1D0TwTV

LINK UPDATED TO RESOLVE BLACK TEXTURE ISSUE: Thanks NavyChief for the catch!

This is likely the only intermediate update before the big one with new hangars and P3D compatibility.

Enjoy! You know how to get hold of me with any questions, comments, or corrections! :biggrin-new:

Henry,

I added my RFN Scenery v340 folder to the ADE Library and...no more "Unknown" objects.
I should have paid closer attention when adding it though. I don't know which one of the 91 *.bgls contained it.
I now have the LSO Shack and FLOLS trailer that were missing previously, but, I still don't have skid marks. No biggie.

Thanks for the help...and v1.02!...Don

Thanks Henry,

Awesome!!!!

Version 1.02 works fine with the MAIW NBAI F-18 traffic files and the addition of some MAIW NBAI F-18 traffic in and out of KNLC really enhances your already outstanding scenery.

There are still a few minor issues with push backs and some of the taxi routes that the MAIW NBAI F-18's take to and from the runways, but they should be relatively easy to fix.

First of all thanks you for that great Scenery.

Does the link for v1.02 is still working. I get a message saying the file is not available the link for v1.0 is working fine

Try the post above again. I updated the link. Let us know if you have any other problems.

Good news, appreciate your testing and patience! If you or someone wanted to take on the task of making the AI work just like the taxi diagram, I would be THRILLED to include!

BTW, if you have any problems with black textures in the v1.02, please re-download from the post above. I updated the link to fix the problem.

Thanks again!

Retro Lemoore Reference Photos

Hi Henry,

Thank you for you detailed response. I have undertaken to see if a can find suitable period aerial photos for you. I have also enlisted others to help. I will let you know what we can find.

I am still trying to find any decent photos that show the glass control tower on the old tower. I thought that would have been the easy part - but not so far. If anyone has any pictures of the old tower please let me know.

I am looking forward to your forthcoming update.

Best regards, Bill

Here is a link to the missing EFFECTS folder (and a new KNLC_KNEEBOARD.PDF showing the squadron assignments on the parking diagrams): http://1drv.ms/1A27jbL

Sorry for the confusion. Let me know if you need anything else.

Congratulations

Hi Henry,
Well done - a fine job even if it hadn't been your first scenery:applause:

Going to be greedy and say that I'm looking forward to any updates/improvements in the future.....:encouragement:

Rick, thanks for the kind words and no worries about anticipating updates!

I will be out of pocket for the next couple of days taking care of my wife, but everyone, please continue posting any corrections. I will catch up later in the week.

Enjoy.

(if I can find an A-7 AI plane).

Hello Don - missed seeing you around here in the last 6-12 mos or so! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As I posted earlier, there is a great Hellenic AF MAIW pack that uses an A-7E custom build AI aircraft. Repainting that one is (at least to my knowledge) the best route for an AI Corsair II ....

Hope that helps,

dl
