I downloaded a mod a while back that adds more countries.Unfortunately it has Allied countries such as Australia, RNZAF etc set to enemy.What file controls this so can change it? Are there any speech packs for Brits, Aussies, Kiwis? Complete ones where they report in, acknowledge orders etc such as American planes do in CFS2?

Dasuto247,

Your country.cfg should have this at the top. It denotes who are friendlies and who are foes.

Also, voice packs? Yes...for some.

We also have Spanish, German, Italian, and French.

Is the French voice pack the one called Arielle.Zip ? This one is not really "French" but "French Canadian" (from Quebec). That's a bit annoying when you fly the Battle of France or any Vichy campaign, with this particular accent. :wavey:

Ahh then you can understand it. Now if it was from New Brunswick then you'd be out of luck.

I'm fooling with it trying to figure it out but it seems Countries like New Zealand etc minus Australia(which ) are not allied with USA or Britain(but are with the USAAF) in current setup.I got the speech packs to work, thanks much.Will definitely enhance the sim.Also, go the Brit and Aussie sound to work.The issue is if I am playing an american and flying mission with Brit planes and select them as brits, they speak in American accents.Anyway to fix this?

Dasuto247,

Your country.cfg is right, except for the top part. Look at the post I made before you posted your country.cfg, and see if you can figure out which section is missing from your country.cfg file which would align the nationalities properly.

Hint: Look up top. :icon_eek:

Lol feeling a bit clueless.I thought I saw the issue and made some changes, countries still not aligned properly and now japan has american callsigns etc.glad i backed up my file. Care to clue me in ?

...... This one is not really "French" but "French Canadian" (from Quebec). That's a bit annoying when you fly the Battle of France or any Vichy campaign, with this particular accent.

Why, couldn't it be possible that some Quebecois volunteer, willing to fight for France, joined the l'Arméé de l'Air first and Vichy Air Force later on? :costumed-smiley-034

You must talk to Erufle, who's responsible for all of these voice pack addons.

What if we found out that the SCW Spanish pilot's chatter pack is in reality Mexican chatter instead of strictly Castillian? In-flight burritos, enchiladas and chimichanga............Yum!Yum! :biggrin-new:

Cheers!
KH
:ernaehrung004:

Kelti - Despite the disappointment expressed, it's probably not "annoying" enough for Roxanne-21 to spend some time making a "proper" french voice pack so we can marvel at the difference in accent ... :a1451:

Good Grief guys, it was offered for free :dejection:

Here is a question concerning voice packs. I added the Brit and Aussie voices, work for Brit and Aussie planes when nationality is selected.How do I assign the Aussie voice for New Zealand planes? (closest thing to a NZ voice pack far as I know) ? Also, is it possible to make it where if am flying a US plane and have allied planes such as Brits etc around to hear the Brit voices etc? I was running a test and noticed the Brit fighters (I was flying USA) sounded like yanks, but when I fly Brit planes , accent is clear.Thanks.

Also, I need to add some RNZAF aircraft callsigns(callsign.dat) as well some for USAAC and Japanese Army Air Force. I have added some to USA, Aussie, Brit which is easy, but not sure what the numbers mean after the callsign in the file or which ones would use for USAAC, IJAAF , New Zeland etc.

Thanks.I tried lol. Like I mentioned, still new to this.Only sim I ever modded much was Silent Hunter 4, so I know some things but it's different.Thanks for the patience and help.

I didn't try to help with this issue because Rami had it well in hand. Feel free to ask questions. Someone here will get you an answer... that's what we do. Do you need a copy of the original country.cfg for a backup?

IIRC it's the 'short_name' that assigns the voice pack. So the NZ one would have to be the same as the Australian.

Dasuto247,

Here is my callsign.dat file. I have done some of my own over the years when needed. The first numbers in the callsign.dat file correspond with the nationality.

If you want some quick-and-dirty New Zealand callsigns...I just name them after cities, frequently.

# New Zealand Aircraft
Napier-Hastings,9,1
Tauranga,9,1
Hamilton,9,1
Auckland,9,1
Wellington,9,1
Christchurch,9,1
Kiwi,9,1
Dunedin,9,1
Nelson,9,1
Rotorna,9,1
Palmerston North,9,1

Copy and paste these and place them in the callsign.dat file I just attached between the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force (#8) and Australia. (#10)

In the MISC_DATA section of the aircraft .dp file, you also want to make sure (especially for quick combat; this controls which voice is used) that the nationality is correct for the aircraft / skin you are using. The number in the highlighted section corresponds directly with the nationality number in the country.cfg file.

This one, for example, is of a British nationality.

[MISC_DATA]

category=1

min_speed=175
cruise_speed=310
max_speed=438
min_alt=50
cruise_alt=2200
max_alt=8300
entered_service=1/1/39
crew=2

I didn't try to help with this issue because Rami had it well in hand. Feel free to ask questions. Someone here will get you an answer... that's what we do. Do you need a copy of the original country.cfg for a backup?

Thanks for the help.I have it figured out it now have seen it done correctly. Actually I could use an original country.cfg since seems I lost a lot of my original files I did back up, thanks again.
