Navy All Hands Magazine Nov 1946

Interesting reading! I noticed a picture of the USS Kentucky (BB-66) being built in the Norfolk Navy Yard. Most interesting, as I didn't know there WAS a USS Kentucky battleship! Well I did further Googling. Turns out as a result of the drawdown following the end of WW2, further construction of the Kentucky, and many other ships, was cancelled!

Great post, Gray Eagle! :santahat: NC

I did like the article on the Navy tugs. I was the Chief Engineer on Accohanoc YTM-545 for a couple of years. Back in '46 it was designated a YTB.

Interesting reading.

Interesting to note the Navy had a surplus of ships but a critical shortage of paper! Though from my USAF experience I guess it isn't all that surprising.
