Would someone kindly send me the dimensions of the base of the Saitek Yoke? I have looked all over for the measurements but can't seem to find them anywhere...Thanks...
I just measured mine and knocked out a quick drawing, does this help?
If you need any more dimensions let me know.
BTW those dimensions are to the nearest 1/8" (0.125").
Incidentally the main shaft for the yoke remains within the confines of the base unlike the early CH one which poked out of the back of the base when it was pushed all the way forward.
I just looked at my drawing again and realized I missed a dimension off! :isadizzy:
The distance from the front face to the start of the angled rear piece in the upper drawing is 6.250". The front face is at the bottom of that drawing.
No problem...Really appreciate it...I have a restricted area on my computer desk, but I think the Saitek will fit just fine, thanks to your diagram...Not sure about how it will clamp onto the desk, but I can always use Velcro without the clamps...Again, thanks for your help!
I had a problem fitting it on my desk too as I have a keyboard drawer that is not deep enough to allow the yoke to sit on it and the clamp wouldn't fit either as the drawer gets in the way.
My solution was 6 small balls of Blu-Tack ('poster putty' or whatever brand name you can get locally) strategically placed at the 6 'corners' on the base and then I just press down on the unit when I have it in the right place. It holds just fine like that and I use 4 balls under the throttle unit too.
By using the Blu-Tack you don't have to worry about one half of the Velcro being permanently stuck to your desk, unless of course you are thinking of mounting it permanently.
I'll have to give the sticky stuff a try...I don't like the idea of Velcro on the desk all the time, but I hadn't thought about any alternatives...Thanks again!
