Need a little Assistance

Hey all,

So I want to do some Cavalry units. I have the Horse. Now I need the rider. I'm looking for a figure that I can mount on the horse. On that can be made to look like British, German, Russian and American Cavalry.

Any one have an idea?

Saddly I've had vary little luck in making humans... If you don't need faces you could try the humans included in the CFS2 objects. I know that the US Artillery and some of the Japanese AA guns have crews.

I seem to remembes various infantry figures sets, US German Rusian and Japanese from several years back, don't remember who did them though.

What are your # of pologon limitations going to look like?

Wayland,
These may be what you were thinking of:
TroopsFor Mission Writers, add American and Japanese ground troops that move, shoot
and scream

Troops WWI
For Mission Writers: Belgian, French, British and German ground troops

Allen,

Good idea I'll look them over. Are they flat or are they modeled.

Wayland,

I'm looking at the various sets. So far the Russian set looks the best with textures and all. My horse is sitting at 640 polys. I want to keep it under 1000. So with in 360.

Dave,

I have the RAF pilot. It would require a new head for each. Plus new texture mapping. As well as new textures. I also think the Polys are higher on them.

What I've found so far. The WWI set has no textures. I could add them. They have the most extras added to the model. The Japanese are not much different from the Russian. Its the Heads that will give me the most trouble. Thats probly why I keep going back to the WWI set. Let me know If there is a set not mentioned.

Didn't Wolfi make a figure?

I have this in my FS9.1 and sometimes use it for marking out flattens and stuff. Might save you a bit of time...still there at flightsim.com:

No Dice, Yes, those were the ones I was thinking of.

BH, Gawd that's a tiny amount! I can't get to any of my files right now, as both my PC and Laptop arin the shop right now, but when I get them back I'll see what I have stored away in the stacks.

This is being typed on a Smarta** phone with a 1'X2' virtual keybord. pls excuse the misteaks!

emfrat,

Thank You for pointing that out. While it might be to much for CFS2, it is nice to see an existing example. It might serve as a reference.

So the Russian troops are out. They are at 1600 polys. Thats more than the horse. I'm going to look at the CFS2 model and the WWI. If I can't find one, then I'll have to use one as a reference and make my own. I was hoping to avoid that.

The WWI troops are around 1200 without gear or weapons. That would put the model around 1800-1900. I'll have to think about this one.

look at the Japanese and Russian troops and the Soviet vehicles sets that XavierB did. They might be a help.

John,

I have some freeware Pilot figures that I used on those FSDS2 WWI models that I had sent you,
last summer. I had to redo/slice/dice allot of the polys to get them down to size, but they were a
good base to start from. They might be importable into Gmax, which I believe is what you are using. If
interested, send me an email and I'll get them to you. I'll check around on the net for some source
files, and let you know if I come up with anything.

Have a nice holiday, :santahat:
