Need some help here...

..I have had MR's Solomons fields installed for a number of years with no problem. Suddenly a gremlin has struck and now I have all angular and straight shorelines. It doesn't matter what the point of departure is it is all the same. It appears to apply only to the Solomons. I have tried other locations with no problems other than no beaches.
I have tried re-installling the textures from day one and no change. Any ideas?

Fibber: You say the problem just happened. But have you copied the textures from the Scenedb/world/textures folder and pasted them into the main Textures folder to cure the squares problem?

Shadow.....

......funny that you mention that but the problem appeared AFTER I had copied the texs over to ensure that the folder were all in agreement.

I wonder if the water files may be the problem. Rami, will try for a screenshot if I can remember how and get one done.a

Okay!.......

.may have found the problem. With my installation of MR's Solomons I did not have Rhumbaflappy's watermasks activated. Went back and activated them and now have what appears to be a coastline abeit no beaches which IIRC is a known problem with the Rhuma DEMs.
What does avoid me is the answer to the question of whether MR's Solomons is compatible with Rhumas DEM 7 & 8 or is for stock texs. As of now I have the coast but structures, trees and emplacements in water with bridges that have NO water under them.

Hi Fib's

These are the scenery's that are made for the new mesh.

mr_marianas_b-2a.zip

mr_marianas_b-3.zip

mr_marianas_b-4.zip

MR_DEI_Ceram-Amahai_090921-1.zip

MR Dutch East Indies 090912.zip

So the Solomon package is for the stock "out of the box" mesh.

Thanks!! That was to be my next step. To plow through the "read-me's" and see what is old and what is new. I guess I confused the Solomons '16 package with something else.

Fibber,

Even though my website isn't entirely up to speed the portion of the scenery library dealing with scenery built for stock mesh and masks is. I don't know what the Solomon's pack is that you have but if you download the one from my website it should do the trick. The name of the file is mr_solomons_080512.zip.

Well hello there mr!....

...what I presently have set up is the MR_Solomon_081116. When I check the size of the tex file in the tex folder the 081116 files seem to be larger. Should I regress to 080512? Is one meant for Rhuma and one meant for stock?
I thought I had this all straightened out but I guess it is like a Andean highway all nothing but curves:biggrin-new:

To tell ya the truth Fibber, I can't see any difference between mr_solomons_081116 and mr_solomons_080512. The number of files appears to be the same in each. The sizes and text in the readmes is the same. I am guessing that there must have been some reason for the difference in names, but I am danged if I can remember or dope out what it may have been! :indecisiveness:

I think I was feeling lazy and so tweaked the mr_solomons_080512 zip, uploaded it to my website but to save time didn't change the zip name so I wouldn't need to update the link on the scenery download page page. I then uploaded the newly tweaked version to the SOH Archive but gave it a new name, mr_solomons_081116.

There is probably some long ago thread where I explained doing this too.

Seems to me I vaguely recall doing something like this. Can't remember what the tweak was, I think I had left out either an airfield bgl or and airfield ground texture.

BUT whatever it was this zip is meant to be used with the stock mesh and masks only.
