Need some help with seaplanes

If the plane is a true sea plane...meaning floats or boat hull only and not an amphibian, the only way to "take off from land" is to slew the plane (press Y) into the air (press Q for up, A for down) until you have a bit of altitude then exit slew mode (hit Y again). This will have your plane in the air, engines running and at cruising speed.

OBIO

There are 2 other ways of doing it.

1) use slew like Obio suggests but start at a base that is near water and just slew horizontally until the aircraft is sitting on water (use the F1 key to lower it to sea level if necessary) then release slew and you should be able to take off from water.

2) download one of the add on runway packs that include sea plane bases.Try something by Maskrider or Xavier, they should be good places to start.

good luck

Good comments from all,but the easiest way is to create your own sea plane bases.Using mission builder locate an area of the world you want to fly from and place your mouse over it.Now write down the coordinates on a bit of paper.(ie Lat=N50 8.00 Lon=E1 50.00).

Now in your CFS2 main folder go to INFO and open airbases dat file with notepad.Copy the first airbase entry you see and paste it at the bottom of the list. All you need to do now is change the Lon and Lat and base alt,and rename the base as whatever you want.Oh and change the runway number and id number to run in sequence with with the last base.

Now you have a new sea plane base you can use any time ,and you can repeat the process as often as you like.

Good luck:icon29:
