Good morning friends,
for the moment I have an aircraft that makes me some toothache.
She is converted from aCFS2 model
the main problem is that with the elevator trim close to 0° with the autopliot she flies well strait on,
BUT with some nose down
the wing chord is close to the leding edge of the wing and the empty weight cg is about 2/3 behind the leading edge
what parameters can change this?
What I want is that the plane at about 1000meters altitude wth 80% power should fly (with the ap on straight forwards
with the elevator close to 0° but with the nose more up
Best regards
Michael

Hi Michael,

a few months ago I had same same issue with the Alphasim Viggen.
It had a nose-down attitide while in cruise flight.

I modified the cruise_lift_scalar in the flight_tuning section of the aircraft.cfg from 1.0 to 0.1 and this solved the issue for me.

Here you can find an overview and explanations of the parameters in the aircraft.cfg.

Aircraft Configuration Files

Although it is for Prepar3D I suppose most parameters work the same way in FS2004

Good morning Hartwig,
as I said I tested your advice just after leaving the site
Wunderbar,Herrlich!
That was the "Trick 17" I needed.
Plane flies well know.
Thank you again

Hallo Hartwig,
looking at your name are you also german or of german origin?
I am german but choose to live at the coast close to the sea at Brittany.
Concerning FS2004, I try to convert rare models for CFS2 to FS2004.
Some times it work very well and the conversion is a fast job.
But most the times it is very very hard. I never understood why microsoft did so different flight
models - and realy most of the panels in CFS2 are perhaps nice for a comic book but have nothing to do with the real planes
Best regards
Yours
Michael

Hello Michael,

You are right, I am German. Born and raised in Eastern Germany close to the former inner German border in Thuringia.
Now living near Frankfurt am Main for many years.

When using CFS2 models in FS2004 and they are not flying well I usually replace the flight model (aircraft.cfg and air file) with one of a FS2004 aircraft that is similar. I only keep the contact points and maybe the lights sections of the original aircraft.cfg.

Hallo Hartwig,
it is a way to do,
from my side I try to find as much documents as possible from the concerned aircraft.
Than I try to "translate all the information gathered into the FS2004 aircraft.
In reality my speciality is to make 2D panels and when I still have them almost to make new gauges.
But when I make a panel the plane should fly as close as possible to the real one.
Some times I wonder (even on payware models) if the authors knew what they did and if they have tried themselves
to fly their products.
A Bf 109K should fly as a Bf 109K and not as a G or E version. I am a bit fanatic LOL.
And what most pretend the Bf 109 beeing outclassed as a pure fighter --- as almost said the romains history is written by the victorious not by the surrender.
Concerning jets, apart those used until 1945 it is not my cup of tea. As same with glass or modern cockpits. I do not "feel at home" with.
But also this time for jets will soon be come to an end and to be replaced by drones brrrrrrrr
Bis demnächst in diesem Theater
