Needed Small crossable bridge

hey everyone.
I am working on a scenery on a lake....Thanks to FALCON409 I have the lakes to work with.
Between these 2 lakes is a stream that I need to place a crossable bridge on. What I would like is something that is crossable, as this will be needed to move aircraft across from the parking area to the runway. I have checked all my ADEX scenery objects and have nothing close to what I would like.
Anyone know if anything like a small wood bridge, is available as a scenery object, or would be willing to create one for this....

Define small bridge

Length/width/height

What type of aircraft would cross it.

Length should be about 55 feet, and width should be 25 feet, Height at 4 feet.....
This would be large enough to get something like a Cessna to a DC3/C47.
I just need something flat that they can make it across, to the Lodge parking area, from the runway...
I am building this as a hidden hide-a-way scenery.....The strip is grass, with grass parking.

Its taking shape might be a few days until its done.

I will give her a test tomorrow and see if she holds the weight of a DC3. I hope it is wide enough it really does not look as big as the dimensions I created it to.

If I don't have any issues I will get it to you to test.

It might need adjusted. :icon_lol:

Hi,
It's not my intention to simply be negative but it seems that the lateral logs should be atop the longitudinal ones and beneath the roadway. I was reminded of Lois Lane's quote in Superman: The Movie: "But who's holding up you?" It does look good!

Dave tread to tread, the width is 18' 6", so as long as the original dimensions were used, the width should be fine.

Well she's good enough to start playing around with.

To help with any strange transitions from ground to platform I placed two long ramps (invisible). That may not be working out as planned. The DC3 will not climb the hill. The transition from ground to ramp busts off the tail every time.

The 4 green poles mark the start and end of the ramp. They will not be in the final version.

The pier in the center may need to become a separate placeable object. That way you could account for a larger variation in depth of the stream.

I created a bumpmap to add some definition to the abutment, pier and logs. It looks like the one for the logs is having a negative affect. It might need to go but the issue just might be a bad bumpmap.

DC3 fits but just barely.

Look for a PM with download instructions.

Nice work on the bridge Double D!

When does your Gmax modeling class begin? I shant be late! :salute:

Actually Dave, as a placeable object the ends of the bridge may just clear the width of the stream and he can adjust the elevation of the bridge to allow the airplane to taxi on and off without a ramp. (I think).

That's what I was thinking....The height is adjustable in the edit object section of ADEX....
I have the bridge, and will get it into game.....I will post a few screens once its tested and set to it final location.....
Falcons landing is in, with a nice view of the surrounding mountains and the lake.....Off to the left you can make out the lodge beyond the small marina...
Their will also be a name change for the lodge...... That will be revealed when I post the screens of the scenery....

Now I want to say Thank you very much to Dave, and ED for their creations for this scenery.....Without their help this scenery would not be possible.

Glad to be of service Craig and looking forward to the finished project.:salute:

The purpose of the ramps was to ease the transition from ground to the bridge in the event there was a ground poly anomaly.

I figured if the ground was a straight shot then the ramps would never come into play.

The problem is the way FS handles platforms. As soon as you hit the edge of the platform flight simulator forces the whole plane to take on the attitude of the platform. This results in a dramatic downward motion of the tail of the aircraft if going up the ramp. That force will break most tails off the plane.

Good lesson to learn so the first change will be the elimination of the ramps and marker poles.

The altitude adjustment will be -5.15 (or about) to put the ground level with the abutment.

Thanks Dave....Have the bridge in place.....Looks great......will need the new file without the ramps and poles.....
Outside of that, everything is perfect....

Now to figure out what I need to do to flatten the hills blocking the runway.....I always forget which one that is....
