Needing Helicopters for the 1950's

The Bell HSL-1 (or Bell Model 61) was the Navy's first all weather anti-sub warfare helicoptor first flown in 1953. It is also the only tandem rotor design by Bell. It is truely a 50s classic! It's less than 1/2 the size of the CH-46 Chinook, and about the same size as the CH-46 Sea Knight.

I have a workable Fs9 version I found on the Hovercontrol site. I've been working on the Aircraft cfg to tune it a bit. Looks good, flys pretty well. Also have the WIP Gmax files (Open Source Design - Bell 61 by Lasse Lindh 2003). I wish the design might be completed and improved. Lindh has provided the Gmax source for this purpose. I don't do Gmax work.

There is an Fs2000 file (Model61.zip by Davis Kane) in the FlightSim library. Not so good looking by today's standards, but it works.

The Bell HSL-1 is a helicoptor I'd like to see worked on for Fs9 and FsX.

I have a helicopter-related question but didn't know if it was worth a new thread, or maybe tacking on to this one.

The situation is as follows: I have a number of Hughes 500 "Loach"-type helicopters in my sim (FS9), but one common trait for them is the anti-torque/tail rotor doesn't spin. The "install" instructions for the files, as I recall, actually stated this problem existed but the maker of the helicopter model (an otherwise excellent aircraft) admitted he didn't know how to have it spinning once the engine was cranked. Does anyone know how we get one of these spinning again?

I think these are Richard Frady's 500s.

See wot happens when I bring up an old thread!

To answer your question, I think the animation is set in the model file,
Not sure, but there may be a modified file at Hovercontrol.
