• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

If you cant say anything nice or positive, then why post? What is fueling your negative ambitions? Have you ever wondered what people think of you when you go off on others? or when you put down their posts?

Someone says 'this guy is helping out starving, dying people, and it becomes a politcal arena on dress codes. My own thread about a new Apple computer product line becomes a Apple joke thread. Someone else is posting hate on some painter from another forum..

Goodness...

Its hard sometimes when the bug hits you to say something snide or rough or to complain about things. Its difficult. I fight that battle. But lately, its rubbing me and wanting to pull me down with it. I dont want to become a negative person that cant say anything nice. I want to find the good, see the good, not look for the bad, find the bad, laugh about the bad. For me, it just makes a person sick.

Anyways.. Thats my two cents for the day.

I think posting image macros that bash apple is an internet-wide phenomena. It wasn't meant as a personal attack on you or anyone else, just as cynical commentary on the whole culture of Apple. I think light-hearted teasing is inevitable on a technology themed board...I agree it does get out of hand sometimes and I just tell myself "Step away from the computer...its not worth it"

same here, its just a joke, people who like apple stuff tend to make fun of microsoft stuff (not saying you do) and people who like microsoft stuff tend to make fun of apple stuff. Sure you get some who really mean it but for everyone else its just a laugh. I can assure you that if microsoft was releaseing the ipad it would get the same stick :engel016:

Fortunately I think we all know that the vast majority of the people that call this place home are pretty darned civilized... And those among us who choose to leave civility behind will eventually dig their own graves here.... and in essence, will bring an end to their presence here....

Well stated, Witt... I come here to escape all the negativity I see every day on the job.. When it seems to creep in here sometimes it depresses me... SOH is my Never-Never Land......always will be, as long as I can see my computer...:mixedsmi::jump::wiggle::wavey:

The internet is killing the ability to be civil. It's really easy to act differently than you would if you were standing in front of the person you are 'talking' to, because there is no way you are going to get hurt.

I'm a firm believer in posting as if the people I'm talking to are right next to me. It never hurts to be polite.
