• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

'Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Snow, Nor Snake...'

Rattle snake is quite good. I used to catch, kill, skin and eat Eastern Diamond Backs when I was growing up in Southern Ohio. There was a large stone quarry about a mile from my house, way back in the woods where people rarely went...a relic from when the Ohio Erie Canal was built. There were plenty of Rattlers in that quarry. They would get on top of the large slabs of cut stone and sun themselves....there were few trees in the quarry to block the sun, and the trees that were there were very small and stunted looking.

delaware doesn't have much in the way of poisonous snakes, except for copperheads and water moccasins. consequently i kinda like snakes.
that said, i did have a sorta scary encounter with a black snake.
walking through the tall grass one day, i had one rear up in front of me, and he was slightly taller than me, and about as big around at his neck as my forearm. i ran like a girl :icon_lol:
