Don't let that bother you. You're doing fantastic work. It's apparent that no one else is interested in repainting this one.

By no means am I saying I dislike your paints. I just like more from a repaint than what most care to do/share is all. The everyday blah medevac, sar types just bore me. I like the flashy stuff.

I've yet to do any repaints of FSX models. But I can assure you, I sure get the urge!!

I would love to do the flashy ones. Im hoping that we will see Chris B appear here soon as he is the best.

Why would you want that? Granted he's very good, 98% of the paint's he does never sees the light of day for anyone to enjoy.

oh...oh. I mean, no comment

No you can't. Compared to his portfolio, pictures are copywritten. If that's the case, why tell about something you can't ever share?

I think you know where I'm going Michael. I'll leave it at that.

Not sure what you mean, just went and d/led several paints for the Cera 212 and for the EC-135. If you care to explain, just drop me a PM.

yes -Chris is very good at sharing his work and knowledge. And he encourages us other repainters .

Is it possible that you are losing any effect from the alpha layer because you are formatting your images as DXT1 instead of the more common DXT5?

Rick

Hi Rick - thanks for that suggestion. Sadly it seems to make no difference. Any other suggestions most welcome.

Hello gajit, thanks once again for another wonderfull repaint - i like the british Police-Helicopters very much.
I notice that your Belgian Police - Repaint has an all white alpha-channel - that could be the reason why you lost the shine. I have extract the alphas from the original Paints and saved them as .bmp`s, so i can add them to any new repaint. If you like, i send them to you. Please let me know.

Greetings :wavey: Dirk

Aha. A white alpha would mean that there's no reflectivity/ shine, as Dirk suggests.

The closer to 0,0,0 Black the alpha is, the greater the effect.

Best
Dan.

Hi Dirk

Thanks for those.

I have said this before on this forum I AM AN IDIOT! Just realised that i was not saving the psd files as Bmps before converting - I now have shine and the choice thanks to you Dirk.

Cheers

GJ
