You're welcome Chris. Nice sharp pictures! Are you running CFS2 on a newer comp?

Hiya Dave.

Well sort of.

Up until the point a couple of months ago when my 12-year-old Windows XPPro "mainframe" desktop simming computer went south on me, I had two computers. One was the now deceased desktop. The other a 5-year old HP-Pavillion G7 laptop running Windows 8.1Pro.

I've pretty much only used the laptop when traveling or else very light work such as sending and receiving email and so forth. It stayed off most of the time. I'd turn it on from time to time to get the windows updates but that was about it.

Since the desktop meltdown I've had only the laptop. I have pretty much successfully rebuilt all of my CFS2 simming and scenery-building infrastructure on the HP. It actually runs CFS2 quite nicely. I was very surprised. I just copied my back-up CFS2 folder over to a folder on the HP C drive named "Simming Related" and run it from there- along with all my scenery making utilities and such.

The C69 screenies I posted were taken from the HPs 1600x900(32) monitor.

I saved the old Samsung SyncMaster 2333, 1920x1080(32). I keep it hooked up as a secondary monitor. Occasionally I will run CFS2 on the larger monitor in "Extended" or "Second Screen Only" mode and again the HP runs it just fine.

Cheers, and thanks again for the great AC.

First time my body left the ground was in 1962 on board a Lufthansa Lockhead Constellation from Hamburg bound for Frankfurt onward flight to Rome-Cairo-Kuwaith with a Boeing 707. It is a very nice aircraft, thank you very much.

That's interesting Chris. Never had a laptop and I'm surprised at it being able to do the graphics on a 1600x900 (32) monitor. I'll keep this in mind. My old Xp machine is about the same age as yours was.
Thanks, Dave

Great story Svend! Do you remember the stewardess and the 'uh hum" nice uniforms?

Was in der heck ist los?

Hi guys!

Got bit of weirdness going on tonight when I went to do some flying in the C69. I tried every button combination I could think of to make it go away. Restarted with AC in the air instead of on the ground. Swapped out the plane for another and came back. Still no joy. The boarding ramp and wheel chocks refuse to disappear.

The other day when I first flew her I started on the ground and never saw the boarding ramp or chocks.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Well that's something you don't see everyday Chauncey. :playful:

I've never seen that on my end, but I'll look into Chris.

Dave

Hi Chris,

Can you try this one and tell me what you see? Since I'm not seeing it on my end you're my only test bed.

Thanks, Dave

Thanks Dave.

Well, that seems to have done the trick. No more chocks or boarding ramp.

However, I am not sure where they came from in the first place. Like I said, the first time I put the C69 through its paces, there was no sign of them. Then, they just appeared.

Who knows, maybe in the future some odd combination of circumstances and key strokes and they might reappear. But for now anyway, they're gone!

Thanks,
Chris

Huge maskrider fan here!!!!

Hey Chris just a quick question. Are you using the default CFS2 keyboard set up or the Flightsim/CFS option ?

attachment.php
Its an option givin as you start up the game initally I was wondering if using the flightsim/CFS set up you may have activated the airstsirs and chocks as the model would do in FS9 I think sometimes it was activated by the Magneto switches or the seatbelt sign

Phew, well that's good news. In the model file that animation was set to " lever_parking_brake ". Usually CFS2 ignores this. In yours it refused to be ignored.
Now the *.mdl has 0,0,0,0 material set for those parts. In other words drawn but not seen. Let's hope it stays that way. :untroubled:

What Pete Mecry mentioned is also a relevant theory. Gauge files are actually *.dll files. So are the Modules in CFS2. The proper one can make active anything in the sim engine.
Only have to know which one. (Not in this lifetime.) With C++ programing skills this sim could have many of the features of Fs9.

Well, glad it's working. If any other gremlins pop up please let me know.

Take Care,
Dave
