New Alabeo project

Wow! The first Alabeo/Carenado foray into rotorwings. That was unexpected. It should be an interesting addition to their stable.

Thank God! I've been hoping for a R66 for FSX since Robinson got certification back in 2010. :applause:
Alabeo will be just fine with me.
Looks like it's quite a ways along in development too. :jump:

Might be nice to look at, but I don't see it functioning/flying correctly. Alabeo/Carenado stuff is never that realistic in terms of systems.

And sometimes that is just what you want, not everyone wants to go through a long winded start up and have to monitor everything constantly, sometimes the jump in and fly and looking good while you do it is all that is required

Agreed! Immersion for me is convincing visuals more than what I am feeling. I have yet to have any flightsim addon feel like the real thing, so I don't worry as much about it. I have come close so many times to picking up the dodo 206 and and last year I got to fly her on a friends monster PC. needless to say, the visuals kept me from ever thinking about getting it.

not a fan of the Robinson helis, but if it does well, maybe they will work on another model after, so I guess I'll be picking it up.

I fully agree :)

They certainly suit mere mortals such as myself, especially those of us who 'fly for fun' and don't suffer from 'Anal retention'.

I have to admit I like systems realism to a point (eg., starting up a A2A/WOP Mustang, Milton's Beech 18, or a DC-3) but I hate being a "systems manager" in an aircraft. I don't have a printer for my PC, so I can't run off lengthy checklists, and my 54-year old memory can leave something to be desired at times, too. That doesn't mean I mean I'm pressing Ctrl+E on every flight, but I don't want to be sitting on the ramp for half an hour looking for the @#%$ Master Battery switch on some acre-sized Flight Engineer's panel.

As for Alabeo, I am VERY happy and impressed with what they've produced so far. I only have the Cessna C188 AgTruck and the WACO YMF-5, but I think they're superb renditions of each. I enjoyed Bill Lyon's FS9 version of the WACO but had always hoped that someone would really go to town with it in a decent payware version, and that's just what Alabeo did. It's spot on IMHO, and more than a bargain at their price. I'm debating buying the Staggerwing as I'm not a huge fan of that airplane, but I'm genuinely looking forward to their take on the Piper PA38 Tomahawk.

The Robinson should be interesting. I don't fly helo's much in either sim, but I do enjoy them from time to time, and I think the R-66 will lend itself well to modelling.

How about a Jet Exec 162, Alabeo?

Uggggh! So many other classic props they could have choosen. Next, they'll be doing a 737.

IMO, I feel Alabeo is doing something very beneficial to the Fsim market in general. First by the "type" of models they have been releasing. Considering they're a derivative of the Carenado regime, the quality in visuals are very positive with a solid direction. And I like the fact that they are creating models "other" developers decided not to do for whatever reason. There's a huge foray of aircraft that were out there in the world of aviation. Alabeo looks to be exploring them. Look at their line-up since they hit the scene. :applause:

I will say, they did surprise me with a helicopter.
