New B-17 Hanger...

Tonight we had a recognition dinner for everyone that volunteers on the B-17... and the neat thing was that it was held in the new museum hanger.... It was a lot of fun and I hope to share a few stories with everyone tomorrow maybe that were told by a 88 year old B-17 pilot with the 301st.... it was the highlight of the night by far...

So far, in the last three years, people have volunteered nearly 46,000 hours of their time in restoration work... with many thousands more to go...

Here are some pictures...no B-17, still in the other hanger...

Sorry for the quality, I took them with my phone..

What is the plane to the left of the Texan in picture 1...the one with the yellow wing? I just can't figure out what it is.

Ted, it looks like a B-26/A-26, but we'll all probably know in the morning.

The pics are great; hard to believe they came from a camera phone.

OOPS!!! Sorry about that guys... I took the wife over to show her the A-26 because she had not seen it yet, and I must have been jabbering and forgot to take a picture... It is indeed the exact plane that DonnyBrooke posted about... Picture # 4 is taken up through the belly of the A-26...

Yeah, the iPhone takes some good pictures... or good enough usually when you don't have another camera around...oddly enough though, it does not take video.... you would think it would.... you would think wrong apparently...lol...

One other bad thing is that they are all taken in .bmp format... so I always have to convert them to .jpg.... but on the plus side, it is very easy to take a picture, attatch it to an email and send it off... takes probably less than 30 seconds to do all of that...
