New Cactus Base Henderson Field Guadalcanal Aug. 1942

UP DATE, I have about finished the scenery for the Guadalcanal and Tulagi area. I will post some more pictures soon.

Truely excellent... I believe you captured the field perfectly.

I like the ground personel. Leave it to Johnny Reb to be caught with his hands in his pockets. LOL

Awesome work.

Thanks, I hope once I finish people will enjoy not only the scenery but the 30 to 50 missions as well. Even though the person the story is about the missions are based on historic fact from info I have from after action reports and other info I have found.

Thanks for doing this ...

You have captured what I have been gnashing my teeth about Guadalcanal, since day 1 on cfs2. WHERE can I get this?

I haven`t uploaded it yet. We Blood_Hawk_23, Allen are working on some damaged aircraft and other items to add to the infrastructure. Once that is done I will start a list of down loads needed for the scenery and infrastructure items. I am getting the info on the missions togeather as well.

I'm right there with you Hooraw. Guadalcanal was one of the defining battles of the pacific war. I've been fascinated with the history this area ever since I first read Richard Frank's definitive account of it. Now, 5 or six books later, Guadalcanal is still my favorite theater of the war. I just loaded "Neptune's Inferno" on my Nook. While there are many very nice additions, that have been shared here at SOH, of the Henderson Field complex, nothing so far has satisfied the Aug 7 - Nov. '42 look. My own efforts in MB have been pitiful. Now thanks to Bob, BH and Allen it looks like something really great is about to be available. So Bob, from another son of the old north state, great work guys, and thanks!

I am not sure but I may be having problems with my hard drive. I am thinking about uploading the scenery folder with the textures to SOH just incase.

Just a few shots from a different view.

Very nice work on the field Bob. Also nice to see my airfield figures getting a work out. (They are Army though :biggrin-new: I haven't had time to make a Marines set yet)

Bombed again. I increased the time to one hour that the bomb creaters show on the field.
