Good Evening!

I finally finished work on my latest campaign project:

39 missions telling the story of the JAAF´s 248th Fighter Sentai in New Guinea in 1943/44. They flew the Nakajima Ki-43, first from Wewak, mostly escorting bombers as the Japanese tried to regain the initiative after the Americans had destroyed most of their airplanes in a series of devastating raids against Wewak. Later they were pushed into the defensive again, trying to defend Wewak and Hollandia against a new wave of Allied attacks, which in the end drove the Japanese out of New Guinea. The Sentai was disbanded after the fall of Hollandia in April 1944.

thank you!

I Agree with Henry07. Its alway good to have Campaign from both sides.

Looking forward to its release!:applause:

Skylane,

Shadow Wolf's comments echo my thoughts. Though I do not have time to help you test, I'll support you any other way I can. Great work, keep it up! :applause:

Update and some more screenshots:

Testing is in progress, we found a few items missing in my downloads list, and I re-write part of the Installation Guide to make it easier to follow.

A question, maybe someone can help me: Is there a way to get rid of the black shadow around the crater shown in the third screeny? I get this anytime I place a crater somewhere, and it really annoys me because it kills the eyecandy...

thanks,

It's also twice as much work to do a campaign from both sides.A 60 mission campaign becomes a 120 mission campaign. Do you want to do that much work?Missions and Campaigns should be what the author wants to do and is fun for him. Hopefully people will enjoy what is given freely and may have taken along time to do. Most people don't realize how much work can go into vampaigns. There is the research, finding the ships and planes and finally building and testing the missions. I know some of mine have taken over 6 months to do.I won;t spend another 3 to 6 months to do the other side.

Talon, I wish I could work as fast as you! This campaign took me a year to finish...:icon_lol:
The Allied side of this campaign is already covered in Captain Kurt´s 9th FS missions, so ther eis really no need for me to do the other side also.
I´m not yet sure what I will do next, I have a few ideas, but maybe it will be something Japanese again. Then there is also the final part of the Malaya/Sumatra campaigns that I want to do someday. We shall see..

About this crater: It is the stock infrastructure that came with CFS2. I´d like to know if this black shadow around it appears only on my computer or is it a general problem?

Hi Skylane,

In regards to your crater problem it seems that it is a general problem. It is interesting that if you use 16 bit color settings you get the black shadows and if you use the 32 bit color setings you get brown shadows. I don't think that there is anyway of fixing the stock craters. One of our talented modelers may be able to create true 3d craters. If so I think I could intergrate them into the "inf" file and replace the stock ones.

B24Guy

Just checked and craters are 3d. Very interesting Dr. Watson!
