Hi Folks,

Rami has kindly created the following new categories in the CFS2 Library:

French Skins
Italian Skins
ANZAC Aircraft
ANZAC Skins
Spanish Civil War Aircraft
Spanish Civil War Skins

The Archive II Aircraft and Archive II Skins categories no longer exist. The uploads in those categories have been moved to their respective nationality categories.

Any suggestions for changes, additions or omissions are welcome.

Kevin

ANZAC aircraft? After the Boomerang there is...? ANZAC repaints on the other hand is a well populated category.

What do you all think about removing weapons, crews and drop tanks from Other Items and making them AIRCRAFT LOADOUTS?

Oh yeah

There should be a library for ground objects such as buildings, bridges, static aircraft, figures, trees etc. Stuff that goes in the inf and veh folders in the game. They are scattered between the CFS2 Scenery library (approx. 102 files) and the CFS2 Other library (approx. 49 files). Kind of hard to hunt for a specific file sometimes. Just a question though. Would that change all of the links to them? That could be an issue because so many scenery, mission and campaign files have the current links to them.

There might also be a reason for an aircraft weapons category. There are approximately 68 some of those scattered through the Other library.

I agree the weapons should be taken out of the Others category. I think the vehicles as well - perhaps a new category called "Weapons and Vehicles".

Alternatively three categories: "Infrastructure", "Vehicles" and "Weapons", as per the SCENEDB sub-folders. The "Scenery" category would then contain mainly airfields, towns and terrain.

I'm fairly sure the links remain the same when the category is changed. Rami, can you please confirm this?

Regarding aircraft nationalities, the SOH CFS2 convention is for the aircraft's nationality to be the air force in which it serves.

Perhaps the "ANZAC" category could be renamed "Commonwealth" and also include Canadian, South African and Indian aircraft/skins.

Kevin,

Yes, that's correct about the links. (Thank God!)

Captain Kurt - Scenery library objects is a great suggestion, I am working on this now.

Weapons and vehicles are also great suggestions.

The Commonwealth suggestion is also a valid point.

But I do have one point to make...Not once in these responses has anyone used the words...thank you. :devilish:

Precisely my excuse for refraining from comment. Sounds like a lot of work for someone. Still, of my many short comings, ingratitude isn't one. So my greatful thanks to any and all for what you do for the rest of us.

Good evening,

For my esteemed library partners; the categories are now included. Your challenge is to finish the British / Commonwealth aircraft section, and the British / Commonwealth skins section.

And check for duplicates.

Thank you, Fearless Leader :playful:

Checked the Other and Scenery Add-Ons and it looks like you got all of the things that needed to be moved. Thanks for the new categories!

Thanks Andrew for adopting the new categories - I think they narrow down searches. :encouragement:

I'm still finding various items which need moving but I think I'm getting close to the end. I'll look for some more later today.

Kevin,

I went through the Legacy sections last night and although I didn’t remove the categories, I made the downloads within them also available in their respective sections for easier searching.

The only section I didn’t finish was Stef’s.

Andrew, yes I noticed that. The legacy sections are a nice tribute to those creators but they do make searches longer.

I'll go through Stefano's later.

Loving it. If I had the tools, time and ability I'd like to do a similar restructure for the FS9 library, the CFS2 library is by FAR the best kept and organised, wonder why, lol.

As for ANZAC, don't forget Wozza's* lil' beastie.....

Andrew, I went through Stefano's category and found only a handful of aircraft/skins which needed duplicating.

Do the propexhdp downloads need duplicating?

Cheers,
Kevin
