I directly had to browse my archives.
First look was for Germany liners, such as the POTSDAM recently in the shipyard of Wolfi - but then I noticed the different style in the booms.
So my guess is: It has a Japanese touch, another Maru?
Closest I could find is the Noto Maru, turned into a Hell-Ship during the war:
Jaxon: I belive Usio-san is building an Akagi Maru Class Armed Merchant Cruiser IE; "Auxiliary Cruiser". If it is the Akagi Maru she cared 3 F1M2 "Pete's" in the early 40's. All 5 ship in her class where converted to Auxiliary Cruisers and the Asaka Maru was in fact a Hellship.
Click on the attachment and page down to painting 3g I think this is the ship in dry dock #2.
The Flag Bulletin translates Nippon Yusen Kwaisha as Japanese Mail Ship Company.
The two red lines are meant to represent the katakana ni the first syllable of Nippon, extending the upper portion of the glyph to the borders of the flag.
