New DC Designs AV-8B Harrier II

I do have a pilot, although one with a helmet would be nicer...

LOL, I’ll bet. I asked on the Discord and it looks like there will be some future fiddling which may being your poor pilot a helmet! 😂

Love the dirty paint schemes. With the nozzles halfway up the fuselage, the Harrier was always filthy. 👍🏻

Just had an email from Just Flight saying there's an update for the Harrier;

v0.3.0
- implemented CFD simulation
- fixed speedbrake not working as intended
- fixed undesired throttling backwards behavior when hovering
- fixed crew visibility switch
- fixed LIDS fence behaviour
- updated checklist
- fixed windshield switch working reversed
- fixed brakes not working correctly on ground altitudes beyond Sea Level.
- Fixed IMAGE for some users displaying it at 2/3 of the screen size.
- toned down the blue tone on the HSI so it's not as vibrant to the eye and overal flight model revision
- Improved wind vane animation code
- Improved oleo gear compression value when on ground
- Improved spoiler code for graduated extension against Mach

Hi at all,

I'm a fan of the Harrier...

I'm tempted to buy it but there are several things that stop me from doing so.

For this reason I wanted to ask you:

- what you like
- what you don't like

about this Model for MSFS.

tnks
:)

Thinking of picking this up but wanted to see how current customers of the DCD Harrier find it working with the latest update/version of MSFS?

I’m not going to lie that I find it concerning an addon may break with successive updates, an issue I do t recall with either FSX or P3D.

As an aside, am contemplating one of the Miltech carriers. The Asobo one is ok, but something with a plane guard helo and correct deck markings makes sense to those of us who like NAVAIR ops. Migh get the super pack to get the mix of US, UK, and French carriers. If there’s any useful feedback there, thanks in advance as well.

Cheers!

I have the Miltech carriers pack and I'm very pleased with it. Finally a bit of naval flying in this sim!

Supercarrier Pro is good, though I've not done anything complicated with it.
Not as good as the SWS Carrier add-on for P3D but better than Asobo.

The Harrier is OK, just flew a quick test so works with latest SU.
But TBH I prefer the P3D GR3 Harrier from Wilco (Aeroplane Heaven really), though that's mostly my dislike of MFDs.

Thanks chaps.

Yes, in P3D, both the Razbam and Wilco Harriers got used heavily, as were the SDB carriers, so your frame of reference really helps.

Cheers

Hi - revisiting this again. Was just reading that this Harrier had problems with moving carriers - that it would slide on deck on contact, kind of like what happens when you slew.

Is that the case with the latest version, on the Miltech amphibious LHA? Does it slide even with the parking brakes or toe brakes? Because only using it with a static carrier would be a dealbreaker.

thx,

dl
