New de Havilland Venom FB1/4 available (freeware)

Finally yesterday I made my first test flight with this new bird. Took off from Concrete, climb to 35.000 feet to get above the clouds and went to Bowerman for a smooth landing. This plane is really cool, and the external model is outstanding. I also love how they configured the canopy reflections in the external model, it gives a nice concrete feeling to that "glass". They could have used a bit more polygons for the canopy though, because it doesn't look so smooth when looked from close, but it looks good enough as it is, I like it a lot. Thanks to the author(s). :applause: :ernae:

Is repainting this aircraft exclusively for Mr. Watkins ? I feel someone owes Zsolt a reply here.

Thanks
Dag

I couldn't find Rob's email address to reply personally so may I say my thank-you's to Rob here.

The Venom is a beautiful job, it installed perfectly, looks fantastic and flies like a dream. An obvious labour of love.:salute:

Thank you Rob.

If a paintkit is made available for this, I've a very special repaint in mind for it. What I have in mind would really add character.

Thank you very much for all the comments,
I'll put a Venom paintkit up at Britsim as soon as I can.
The uploader is not working as it should on that site at the moment, sorry.

I'm really looking forward to this repaint! I hope it's not a 'what if' or Swiss long nose version ( Rob has not made the model yet but he will eventually!!).

Oh dear, Dag,
Are my repaints really that bad that you want someone else to do them instead?
Seriously, though, there is no way I can cover so many paint opportunities. It's just that Rob Richardson and I work very closely with his models and share info regarding colour scheme options and testing texture mapping, etc, etc. That is why I get in first and give people additional paint schemes when the model is released. I do not, as you imply seek to keep them all to myself exclusively!

regards, Peter Watkins

When will be available the paintkit?

Hello Zsolt,
You now have the paintkit from Rob. I look forward to seeing your repaints! If you have any queries re specific aircraft please contact me, you already have my email address and I am always happy to help a fellow painter.

best regards, Peter Watkins

Peter many thanks for the paints, I too think we can do without what if's

While I did "Thank" Rob for the paint templates.

I won't be doing any repaint due to too much "what iffing"

I was planning a photo-real scheme to give it more realistic appeal. Although,

All the speculation I can do without :salute:
