Great shot Panther. I am a Flickr nut myself. One of my faves is a bird photographer. He takes the best photos I have ever seen of birds.

Amazingly, there was a grayish bird that looked exactly like this guy that flew slowly over my driveway this morning while me and Junior were out for a short walk. Beautiful birds. They are wild looking when they take-off and somehow they can land in trees, but takes usually 2 or 3 landings till they find a branch that will not bend too far, lol..

What's amazing to me is how birds naturally have mastered a flying wing. They use a single stabilizer and wing twisting to control yaw, pitch, and roll. We have to use fixed controls that pivot and normally three sets for each axis.

The other thing that amazes me is to watch birds, even the small ones, master gusts and crosswinds and glide it in to land on a fence or other very small target.

Years before we figured out the CV-22, birds could twist everything to combine horizontal flight with near vertical flight. And if you are looking for precision, watch a hawk go after something. Low and fast over the ground, pitches up at the right time, and dives down on the victim. Amazing stuff!
