NEW! Freeware Mil Mi-8 "Hip"

Just a little fun with Flight1's AI helo package:

Great rotor animation and sag...It flies like the slug it is (and resembles) and is very easy on resources, even in large numbers.
Compliments to Mr. Zhyhulskiy, he does it again!
(An Mi-6 Hook would be quite something, from this stable...)

It actually flies pretty well in FsX after applying alphas to some of the textures. I've attached 4 replacement textures (add them and overwrite to each texture folder having saved the originals)

Sorry if I've missed this elsewhere, but does anyone know what gauge is missing from the top RH corner of the main panel? One is shown in the manual, but it is missing and "dis" appears in its place.

Cheers

Cheers FB - trouble is, whatever key combination I set that command to, it's still a no-show !?

Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong ?

A.

It's mapped to Flight Director On/Off which in default is CTRL+F, make sure what yours is mapped to in the Controls dialogue.

- which BTW I didn't know as I didn't read the manual, thanks for mentioning this!

Thanks Wing_Z - but as above, whatever keys I set to this command, I still get nothing showing. It's not a control (Flight Director?) I've ever called on before, but it doesn't seem to do anything in my sim on any aircraft. Any ideas?

A.

Edit: Sorry Guys - my bad. I just realised I had been trying a different helo's config, and I guess it was something in the original cfg file that I hadn't copied over. Got my external loads now!
Must admit tho' - still don't know what the Flight Director control would bring up or do in any other aircraft. Can someone enlighten me ?

Cheers A.

Thanks Wing_Z - I am now enlightened. I think. As I tend to fly (if that's the right word!) by sense of smell it's not something I'm gonna get too involved with, methinks.

Cheer, A.

And I have a very poor sense of smell...

Smell the cordite...

The Flight Director is part of the ADI display ( analog or digital) - basically the two -vertical and horizontal) bars or V-pointer that provide Fly-TO indications. If an aircraft doesn't have a FD installed the command does nothing.. if it does, then the command turns on and brings up (or turns off) the FD part of the display.
