New from Ito-san: Loire 130 Seaplane at FlightSim

Looks like Ito-san has his airplane factory back up and running at full capacity. His latest is a French Loire 130, an interesting high-wing design with semi-streamlined engine nacelle. File name loire130_3hs2.zip at FlightSim.com, enjoy. :)
 
Don't load the AC on the ground, or it will do backward flips. I think a scrape or float point a bit further back should do the trick on that one.
It also seems to be powered by a turbine rather than the piston engine that is visually modeled. So a bit of FDE work is going to be required along with swapping a few gauges on the panel once the engine is correctly modeled.

Aside from the too powerful engine the rest of the FDE feels about right and handling is not too far from what I would expect an airframe like this to feel.

That all is by no means intended as negative comments on yet another great addition to our fleet curtesy of Itosan. It is simply a summary of my first impression of the craft.

I had the same problem as Sunny9850 and had to yaw to an altitude to get the aeroplane to fly. But nice to see something a little different - something that we wouldn't probably think about 'flying'. It's nice surprises like these, that makes the simulator so interesting. I hope that Kazunori looks after his eyesight and doesn't model too much, but then again its good to see him back.

You never can tell what Ito-San is going to come up with next, can you? That's what we love about his body of work...

To be sure, this one needs FDE work like the majority of his models do (yes, it's configured with a turboprop, as he often does). Other than the prop, it ports over to FSX just fine- I checked that out because I think it would be fun to add the views for the gun/observation positions around the aircraft.

All told, it's another nice creation from a talented man! Thank you, Ito-San!
 
Rad FDEs

I am glad that Ito is still pumping out his models. Keeps me busy (hehe). I decided to take on his Loire 130 and came up with FDE files for an amphib that looked interesting. It converted it from turbo-prop to piston. Yet it retained reverse thrust, just for fun. Flying it is as normal. Only it has invisible wheels (gear) so you can go on land without crashing (yet you don't have to retract or worry about wheels-they don't get in the way of water ops. This are my kind of FDEs (ha)). Made a video too.

Edit: The approach to landing (last part of video) was set up using ILS approach. So, the AP works perfect. Also the reverse thrust is available for when on water, so you can use as 'water brake' (I'm TOO GOOD-hehe).
 
Yes, this is a nice start on French flying boats - we need lots more, especially the civil LeOs!

Two things:

Is it Loire et Olivier, or Liore et Olivier? You see both, everywhere, sometimes in the same text - anybody know for sure?

We should not really say 'Ito-San'. This man is definitely Ito SENSEI (I think Nikko will confirm that)! :salute:
