New Harrier Model

We're looking at weathering. I love this rendition. There appear to be a number of camps on weathered textures, some like them like this, others clean. So we'll provide a Falklands texture that should make you feel cold, damp and dirty...(and yes...no markings):engel016:

When I saw the Harrier previews, I thought it to be an Aeroplane Heaven production, and it's a very impressive build!

Yes, spending my time between aeroplanes and restoring vintage guitars these days. Jets are interesting, no props! We've enjoyed the Harrier immensely and so nice to build a tribute to a great aeroplane in its final days.

Apart from P51s are you working on anything else? Love the early 51s mate, great job.

Hi Cees, how are things?

Well, not sure I'm professional enough yet but here's one I did earlier...

It's a Harmony from 1935, branded "Radio". They only made this in the one year and I think this was a promotional prize for a radio station in Chicago. It has a pearloid (fake) fretboard and I added a mother-of pearl pickguard to match. There's a plain white stenciled one underneath. (the guard is removable so no harm done to originality.

It was a mess when I got it, so I have given it a sympathetic resto, reset the neck, new bridge, saddle and nut, redid the fretboard and re-fretted and generally tidied her up.

She really sings now. Working on a big 12 string and about to take delivery of an old archtop from the 40's with a broom handle as a bridge!

Stickshaker, as I did not design the HUD or RADAR, I'll get back to you on those but I am pretty sure it was designed that way.The horizon line certainly locks to the horizon and the tracking radar target changes dependent on your point of view.
 
BTW, I can also confirm that the Boundary layer air bleed dors are there and operate automatically at slow manouevring speeds.

Also, the SHAR had indeed a slightly "bulky"nose ahead of the windscreen which was what was bugging you (and me) I suspect..this has been rectified on the production model and has been checked over the best drawings we can get our hands on. It's all sweet now.:engel016:

Hi Ian,

I don't think it will be much longer than a week or two. Some final checks on the VTOL work and a bit of testing and she'll be ready. Not my call though.
