New Junkers Ju-87g "Tankbuster"

Good evening,

Starlynx67 has released a Junkers Ju-87g which he has pieced together from the Alphasim freeware model. I haven't had the chance to fly it yet, but I will try to do tonight. This will certainly come in handy for certain Eastern Front missions, and will be a welcome addition to CFS2! :ernae:

On THAT Note....

... I spent a part of this afternoon tweaking said Ju-87 for a little more "visual accuracy" - in MY mind, anyways.

Here's a preview of the end result - if anyone wants a modified texture set [or the modded AIR and CFG files]just say howdy in a PM with your email address and I'll send it along.

If enough interest is presented, I'll upload it for all to share !

Typhoon Willy,

I just want to run it by starlynx first, and make sure it's okay with him.

I'm pretty certain that the repaints I did for the Alphasim plane and the Thicko gunpod will fit this one. I'm looking forward to giving this version a spin

The Ju87"G" in this picture retains it speed brakes under the wing. Not proper in a tank buster. Nevertheless it looks great with that big 37 mm gun pods.

Cheers, Discus

It also retains the stubs for the diving siren. It would be great to have a mix with so much details for the skin of this one and a little more shine and correct model of the first one.

In all truth it doesn't seem to me there's any difference from the Ju87G-1 "Panzerknacker" mods uploaded by Watchdog22 with Thicko's Flak18 cannons a while ago. Watchdog22's Hans Rudel skin remains my favourite. The model remains old Alpha's Ju87D with all the Stuka dive bomber accessories still in place. As a matter of fact, the model employed here is only a Croatian 1943 repaint performed by Stalin, which included Alpha's original model files.Thank you for the effort anyway! It would be wonderful having sirens, dive brakes and bomb racks removed, as Alpha's visual model of the more streamlined D variant is still very nice.

Cheers!

PS: Oh, my! I hadn't realised the real McCoy had just been posted by Alpha Oldies! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! :jump: :applause: :jump: :applause: :jump: :applause: :jump:

...and she takes Ju87D repaints too...

...Watchdog22's Hans Ulrich Rudel livery repaint of the D model fits this dedicated G-1 model beautifully!

I only modified the spinner spiral of the assault groups from the original red to Rudel's black and repainted the cannon pods with the same colour used by Watchdog22 for the aircraft underside. You can see below that everything is in the right place.

Not only, I tried to see if the fuselage model is the same as the D dive bomber version by using the same gauge-controlled exhaust effect I did for Alpha's Ju87D. I guessed right, the effect works perfectly, so you can add them as well by editing the dp and the aircraft.cfg files.

If ya'll wish, I can upload the two files I repainted to adapt them to Alpha's Ju87G-1 for you.

Thank you for this Christmas gift Alpha Oldies!

I feel pretty dumb Cap'n Kurt. I must have been asleep for that one!! Are there any other gems from Alphasim I've missed?

I wouldn't feel dumb about it brother. It was just uploaded a few days ago - I think Old Wheat may be who sent it in - and it wasn't announced.

That's not to take away any credit for the work Starlynx67 did to improve the D model. His effects, cockpit etc, can be used directly with the Alphasim G1 model, which improves the plane right away.

Little by little, I am working on converting the Alphasim FS9 PBM Mariner for CFS2. I'm debating on whether or not we need their SE5a in CFS2 since Aerocrate's SE5a is a good model.

ALPHA G1 Bomb Cradle

I wondered why no one seemed to notice that the original Alphasim Junkers G1 had been uploaded. No dive flaps, no sirens, and the flak kannon are part of the model file. Watchdog22's skins fit just fine too.

Get it here

To my knowledge the G1 (and G2) carried only guns and no other ordnance also. So if wanted, the bomb cradle of the ALPHA G1 can be removed by editing LOD 01 20 of the model with Martin's MDLMat.

Thanks for the upgraded Ju87.

Thanks for the info, Oglivie!

That's great! :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:

Any possible way to discover where Alpha's Ju87 maps her blurred propeller disc? I would like to replace it with one of mine.

Cheers!

You're welcome, Kelti!

Unfortunately at present time, I do not know which LOD is the prop spin. Also, unlike the Alpha G1 model, the D3 will not load a material list into MDLMat. I suspect it was made with an older flight sim design program that does not work with MDLMat. Perhaps an older MDLC versions might work for the D3 for scasm editing the prop spin material. But I am not entirely sure.

Sorry I could not be of help on this at this time. I'll do some investigating and see what I can find out.

Cheers,
O

Mod away guys!

Hey Sc7500,

Why not upload your tweaks?

Kind regards,

TW

Mod anything I've done to your hearts content! Just mention me in your credits, OK?
Oh, by the way,,anyone hear Lawdawg's Ju87 Stuka sound file yet with the dive siren sound in it?,,,,It sounds great!

Yeah Man,,,do it up!!

Typhoon Willy,

I just want to run it by starlynx first, and make sure it's okay with him.

Go ahead and have fun. I know the spitfire stick and throttles are a bit unhistorical, but it seems nobody has made any "really" good german stick gauges. As far as the exhaust smoke in the .dp is concerned, I really should have set them both back so as not to 'clip' into the plane's textures. Easily fixed of course!!

Keep your trigger finger happy!

Hey, I'll be an happy pup if we could do surgery on the G-1 model!

As to the D-3, alas, there are many older models which do not allow many modifications, if any at all, but I still enjoy flying them nonetheless.

Thank you anyway for your help!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :santahat:

:snowman: Cheers!
